Pokemon Scarlet / Pokemon Violet: The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero - Part 2: The Indigo Disk7
Mar 23, 2024
After having checked through several of the credits and realized many of the people who worked on Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom also worked on these games, I am certain the issues with these games can be addressed by not rushing these games out year after year. Pokémon will still be a hugely successful brand even if Game Freak is allowed to take an extra year to polish their games. Please Pokémon, prioritize quality over quantity because it always pays off, as seen with Tears of the Kingdom.

Galaga: Destination Earth4
Mar 23, 2024
It’s amazing how stuck to the original formula this Galaga game feels, making almost zero effort to expand the franchise narratively or mechanically. The visuals are obviously nicer to look at than some other games of its era, but you’re honestly going to have more fun with the 1981 arcade classic..

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom10

This game gave me everything I already loved about Breath of the Wild and expanded on that foundation in every direction! Bigger map size, fusing of weapons, bigger and more involved boss fights, and a soundtrack that improves upon the mostly ambient albeit beautiful tracks from Breath of the Wild. Zelda games are at their best when they allow for player creativity and fun without sacrificing its storytelling, and it blows my mind that this game is just as good, if not better than its predecessor.

Played this game years ago on my channel back when David Zymanski was still an unknown dev, and the atmosphere and character writing quickly captivated me. Aside from getting lost a few times, the game was very cool to explore, especially since the colors and lighting add an other-worldly element to its already dark and introspective story. Would love to see this game with some proper voice acting some day!

Pokken Tournament DX7

My boy Chandelure and I absolutely swept the single player mode only to get crushed by the first person I played against online, so all in all, a pretty standard fighting game experience that happens to also feature some of my favorite Pokémon. I only wish there was more personality or stakes to the game, as the “story” mode might as well not exist for how little impact it left on me.

For a few crazy nights, this was my friends and my go-to party fighter, and while the soundtrack is worthy of a listen all on its own, the gameplay didn’t hook me as much as the cute character designs did. Hope this team continues to make more games!

Crush 40 regularly appears on my workout playlist almost entirely because of this game.

Even insomniac’s games didn’t have this many villains, and despite it’s obvious visual age and clunky controls, this game has a charm to it not commonly found in modern titles.

Pizza Tower10

This is the greasiest, cheesiest, most deep dished game ever made! It’s the Wario version of Sonic Mania, delivering an appetizing collection of densely packed, faster paced level design complete with a killer, old-school PC game soundtrack.

Lies of P9
Mar 22, 2024
This is the Bloodborne sequel we’ve been waiting for! The brutal difficulty paired with a gorgeous decaying 19th century aesthetic already makes Lies of P a world I thoroughly enjoyed exploring and replaying. The soundtrack is mostly minimal, as the goal is immersion over flashy memorable themes, and the visuals are stunningregardless of if you’re playing on previous Gen or next Gen hardware.
