Captain America: Brave New World4
Mar 13, 2025
Not the worst Marvel film, but it's not good by any stretch of the imagination. The biggest issue for me was the pacing; it was all over the place and had clearly been hacked to pieces in the cutting room. Wait until it comes to streaming.

It's "fine"; it just seems to be confused as to what sort of movie it wanted to be. Wait until it comes to streaming.

Rebel Moon Part 1: A Child of Fire3
Dec 24, 2023
Derivative to the point of plagiarism! Extremely poor cinematography, character development and a storyline that would barely appease a five year old. Genuinely hugely disappointing and another massive miscalculation by both Snyder and Netflix. Avoid this movie.

The Batman5
Mar 13, 2022
Average to below Average movie. It had an issue Indiana Jones has where Batman was unimportant to the story, he didn't actually achieve or do anything through the entire film. Also too long and irregular pacing. I don't know where all these 10/10 are coming from.

Army of the Dead4
May 21, 2021
Not a very good movie and this is coming from a zombie movie fan. It seemed very confused on the style of movie it wanted to be and just ended up being a bit beige as it didn't commit to anything. Too long and too much filler. Even for a zombie movie, the story was extremely basic. 4/10. Might have liked it if I was about 14.

The King3
Nov 14, 2019
Disapointed by this movie in alot of ways. Firstly and probably most importantly, its a complete re-write of history, I mean honestly they get almost every single aspect of the story wrong. This lack of basic attention to the history of the time also ties into the second disapointing part, the abysmal battle at the end of the movie, it literaly made no sense at all from a story or tactical standpoint. Unfortunately the movie is also ludicrously long for the minimal story contained within and at the same time felt horribly truncated in terms plot and character development. On top of all this the pacing is extremley stop-start with fairly considerable jumps in character motivation and plot points. The points i've given it are for the top notch set/prop production and some of the cinematography. Avoid this movie if you care about history and/or your own time.

Robin Hood2
Aug 18, 2019
This movie is shockingly bad. For evidently having a large budget this movie could of been made by first year film students. Literaly no redeeming qualities beyond perhaps the direciton they went with the first 5 minutes sort of a "modern filter" on medievil warfare. Very poor, avoid if possible.

Shazam!5
Apr 11, 2019
One of the btter of the DCEU, but to be fair that not saying much. It's "fine" and is probably alot of fun for its target age group of 12a. Negative aspects are bad storyline, terrible villain, aweful CGI.
Positivive aspects are the overall tone of the movie, some of the funny scenes and some secitons of the action. Overall go see this if you have bored kids in the house, otherwise give it a miss.

Captain Marvel5
Mar 9, 2019
This movie is "fine" ignore the 1/10's they're just hyperbolic. This movie doesnt really do anything wrong, but at the same time there isnt really anything stand out about it. It is for all intents and purposes a character background movie, specificaly to clean up the next avengers film. My only nitpicks are that there are a couple of very poorly executed "funny" scenes and that the movie is a little too long (maby 20-25 mins too long) I wouldnt recommend seeing this film to any one but as the same time i wouldnt discourage anyone, hence an average 5/10.

Alita: Battle Angel3
Feb 14, 2019
Alita is unfortunately a disappointing mess of poorly woven together cliche story lines. The *heartstring* moments are so overwrought and poorly executed that any attachment to the characters are destroyed over the course of the movie. On top of all this, the pacing of this film was terrible making it feel considerably longer than its actual two hour length. Overall then this movie has a script and dialogue that felt like it was written by a ten year old with little understanding of human interaction. In addition characters the plot points are horribly cliched and overdone. Apart from some of the visuals this movie has nothing to offer, avoid unless you have literaly nothing else to do. P.s. Christoph Waltz is completely wasted in a film this poor.

Overlord4
Nov 13, 2018
3.5/10 rounded up. This movie didnt seem able to decide if it wanted to be a fully hammed up B movie or a more serious ww2 movie, and just ended up being a dissapointing combination of the two. Reasonable acting and the first 5-10 minutes are good. Massive historical innacuracies combined with a lack of a reasonable plot and extremely bad story explanation means this is a "watch when it comes to netflix" movie.

The First Purge3
Nov 9, 2018
Easily the worst movie in the franchise, it breaks its own universe rules and has one of the most poorly written storyline scripts iv ever watched in a mainstream movie. It felt more like a SCYFY copycat movie. This movie brings nothing new to the franchise and in some ways retro-actively damages the other movies. Avoid if possible.

Ant-Man and the Wasp5
Nov 9, 2018
Meh. This movie was so inconsequential. If you liked the first movie you'l like this one, unfortunately i didnt really like either of them. Although reasonably well acted the movie is otherwise lackluster in almost every regard. An almost completely isolated and minimal story, this movie will leave you wondering why they bothered making aside from filling the gap between movies. Nothing directly wrong with it, just not good. I dont regret seeing it but wouldnt tell others to watch it.

Incredibles 26
Nov 9, 2018
Admittedly this film was never going to match the 14 years of hype build up around it. But having said that it never really felt like it came close. It is unfortunately and almost directly recycled plot from the first movie but in a slightly worse manner. It also had a hugely dissapointing lack of actual powers used in it and a story much to focused on Jack Jack. By no means a bad movie, but not a scratch on the first. If i didnt already have love for the franchise i would of probably rated this lower. A fine family film for a rainy day but dont go out of your way to see it.

Christopher Robin8

Excellent movie. An all round good movie, excellent acting, good animation and an enjoyable storyline that can be appreciated by all ages. A stand out performance by Ewan McGregor. Very minor pacing issues. But apart from that it is a very enjoyable experience.

Skyscraper5
Nov 9, 2018
This movie was fine. It beat my expectations (which to be fair wasnt a difficult feat) and as per usual i enjoyed every minute of Dwayne Johnsons screen time, the man is walking charisma. Nothing like a must watch but you could certainyl do worse than watch this movie.

Deadpool 29
Nov 9, 2018
This movie did somthing that not many comedies have ever managed to achieve. It had an interesting, funny and successful sequal. This movie is as good, if not better than the first movie. Ryan Reynolds is exactly on point in this film as is the whole tone of the film. A must watch if you enjoyed the first movie.

Solo: A Star Wars Story7
Nov 9, 2018
Look im not going to tell you that this is the best star wars movie out there, because its not. It has some pacing issues, some extremely annoying characters and a mediocre plot at best. What it does have though is some of the Star Wars soul to it. If you can instead seperate this movie from Han Solo and watch it as an extended universe/smuggler/anti hero movie, then it does actualy come to life alot more. Some nice tie ins to the SW universe and some very cool scenes put this movie ahead (atleast in my opinion) of all the Disney Star wars films to date. Putting it bluntly this movie should never of been about Han Solo, it's simply not good enough and to try and capture the feeling of Harrison Ford as Han Solo was never going to work Could do alot better but ultimately could of done a hell of alot worse.

Venom4
Nov 9, 2018
A passable movie but somewhat out of place in the modern line up of stellar comic book films. This movie had almost no impact on me it was "fine" but left no impression upon me other than it felt like it came from a time before the MCU (think Blade, Daredevil or Punisher. Not bad per se, just out of touch with modern comic book audiences. Pretty severe pacing issues throughout. I dont regret seeing this movie but neither would i implore others to go see it.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom3
Nov 9, 2018
I believe im being generous with a 3 here. Who in there right mind thought that the most important part of a dinosaur movie were the made up monsters and people? Dinosuars have mabye 20% of the screen time in this movie (if im being generous). These points come primarily from the passable acting of Chris Pratt in this film. Apart from that it has generaly poor acting, bad effects, next to no storyline and plot, bad story telling, and resides almost completely on your belief in a series of ever increasingly implauasable events. A pathetic showing and an evident cash grab

Bohemian Rhapsody8
Nov 9, 2018
Granted this movie is not my usual fair, having said this Bohemian Rhapsody met and in some places exceeded my expectation. Well cast, well acted and it ticks most of the boxes **** film. Sure it rides alot on the musicalscore, but what do you expect from a movie about Queen?
Nov 9, 2018
Outlaw King6
Nov 9, 2018
This movie started off well but unfortunately fell away as it went on, this is due atleast in part to the fact it started to stray away from historical accuracy towards the end. This is acceptable to some degree for "cinematic effect" but not to the level where it takes you out of the film. Started off as an low 8 but ended up as a low 6/high 5. When you start to tell me that 500 peasants with sticks beat 3000 heavy knights on horse back, my attention starts to wander. (I am aware the battle happened, but maybe have a look at the actual history of it)

Annihilation5
Mar 14, 2018
This felt like a film that had potential, but squandered it in a weird predicatable twist and an overly arty last 10-15 minutes. Some of the effects and scenes were really well done, offset by some weird story line focuses and glaring and frequent plot holes. If youv got Netflix and you like sci-fi give it a watch, seeing as its free, otherwise you can safely give it a miss.

Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi3
Dec 17, 2017
I really wanted to like this film after the disapointment of episode 7, but i just flat out didnt. Massive plot holes riddling the story, no character or motivation development and a Mary Sue character at the heart of it all. All this i was expecting based on episode 7, what i wasnt expecting was to be bored. The story is lackluster and ultimatey pointless. Imagine the longest, slowest most boring car chase scene youv watched, and extend it to 2 and a half hours of movie and youl have some idea of what Episode 8 has in store. Overall a marginal improvement in some respects on episode 7, but thats not saying very much really. Disapointing!!!

Train to Busan7
Sep 12, 2016
Best zombie movie iv seen in a long time, with an actually good child actor for once. Unfortunately it falls into some overplayed zombie tropes, especially towards the end. Definitely not a 10 (perfect movie) as some of the others reviews would suggest but i would give it a solid 7/10 as long as you don't mind subtitles.

World War Z4
Jun 21, 2013
So far removed from the original story by Max Brooks that it shouldn't even share the same name, so far from it in fact that i had to try and dissociate it from the book and appreciate it as the movie itself. Standing on its own this movie is a mediocre zombie film with some reasonable acting and effects, but with virtually no story and many stupid and massive plot holes. How could they of possibly spent £130 million on this movie? its ridiculous. Overall im very disappointed by this film, being looking forwards to it for ages as im a big fan of the book. I would definitely suggest staying away from this film if you are fan of max brooks or just a zombie movie fan in general.

An average movie with some good moments. The worst part about this movie i found was the very annoying very unlikable character of Kate who i wanted to die from the start. Thandie Newtons acting in this movie was also awful acting to my dislike of that character.

Cloverfield3
Apr 29, 2012
A poor movie. Some interesting ideas mostly in the form of the recording angle as its supposedly recorded on a handheld camera, personally i didn't think this worked at all though as i found it made it more confusing and didn't draw me in. As most people have stated the ending was awful, one of the worst i have ever seen to the extent that i stood up at the end of the and shouted at the screen. I would recommend that nobody see this movie.... ever.

Wrath of the Titans4
Apr 28, 2012
I'm not going to argue the point on the story as i am in agreement with most other people on this site that the story was very sub standard but i didn't go to see for the story and i was impressed with the special effects and 3D which i felt made up for the poor story at least in part.
Apr 28, 2012
The Hunger Games5
Apr 28, 2012
This was a very average movie. Too much drawn out story and not enough action. I also kept comparing it in my head to battle royale which made it seem even worse despite the age of battle royale. I was also left in no state of worry for the main character who i didn't care about and i never felt she was in any danger.

The Cabin in the Woods8
Apr 28, 2012
I really enjoyed this movie. I'm a big fan of horror movies but i went into this movie not expecting much and was pleasantly surprised by the extent to which they had thought outside the box.
