Wow, this game is bad. The interface is terrible and nothing is intuitive. The controls scheme is a nightmare, the game is buggy, and there is a ton of lag (produced from poor optimization). I cannot recommend this game.

The roster is not very good in my opinion. It's missing a lot of characters that old school fans love. The story mode a little boring, I ended up playing the MK mobile game inbetween fights because most of the dialogue is throwaway. The krypt is pretty cool, albeit way too expensive. Training mode is great, one of the best I've seen in a fighting game. Haven't tried online yet out of fear that I will get obliterated, given all the new mechanics in the game.

Almost 2 months later and Anthem is STILL a dumpster fire. The devs will patch out a few bugs only to introduce a bunch more. Avoid at all costs.

The game is cute, but surprisingly difficult! If you're on the fence, I highly recommend it. The game controls very well and the "toys" you unlock are super fun to use. However, be aware that this game is considered a "roguelike" meaning it has permadeath mechanics. I was pretty frustrated at first when starting out because of this, but once you start to understand how the game works, you'll love it.

Skyforge is the lovechild of games like Warframe and Neverwinter. It's an MMO but has heavy emphasis on instances. There are open-world areas where you can play with other people without the need to be in a party, but those only make up about 30% of the game's content. The combat is incredible, better than anything I've seen in the other MMOs on PSN. The game is really grindy though, and you will find yourself doing the same things over and over in similar maps. So if the combat doesn't appeal to you, it would make the game difficult to recommend.

APB Reloaded is a port of a PC game that was relaunched in 2011. It's far too old to contend with games that have come out in the last few years. Please give this game a pass, it was relaunched because the original was bad. This version was **** 2011.

I like the Toukiden series as it does a lot to speed up the "monster hunter" formula. It removes a lot of the tedium, almost too much if you ask me. There is something really methodical about preparing for your hunt and tracking down a beast in MH, but sometimes you just want to fight the monsters! This is where Toukiden 2 shines. It gets you to the action quickly. It also has a decent story. If you like games like God Eater, Freedom Wars, and Soul Sacrifice...I think you will love this game!

I was starting to lose faith in Platinum Games after TMNT and Legend of Korra. Let's just say my faith has been restored. Their collaboration with Yoko Taro has really created something special. They have managed to blend so many different genres and an impactful narrative all in one nice tight little package. This game gets two thumbs up from me. Truly a masterpiece.

This is the best RPG I've played on the PS4 so far. The combat mechanics are solid and the story is good. The real draw however, is the city itself. There is so much to do and most of it is really fun. There are minigames galore, secret/hidden sidequests, and so much more. If you are on the fence like I was, hopefully this is enough to push you over!

I hated Destiny when it first came out, the only draw was its similarities to Halo. The Taken King has elevated the game to something I can actually play full time, like a lot of MMORPGs from a decade ago. The new subclasses are also a great addition, especially the warlock's. You can feel like a real mage now!

The Bad: The netcode is horrendous so online multiplayer is pretty much useless and there is no local co-op to compensate. Some of the character names are changed from the anime. Only a little more than half of the entire roster can be used in story mode. The Good: The game literally feels like you are playing the anime. They didn't shy away from bringing characters with complex powers like Diavolo or Vanilla Ice. Every stage in story mode has a free-roam version. The roster has something like 53 playable characters. Many characters interact with each other during the fight opening. I think this game is great. As a long time JoJo fan it does just about everything I want it to. I can't recommend it to non-JoJo fans, but I can't recommend it enough to those who are.

The game would be a lot better if: 1. The enemies were not HP sponges on hard and very hard mode. 2. There was an option to not play cutscenes at all, and also skip credits.

I was a huge fan of Trackmania on the PS2. I would literally spend days creating my own custom tracks. Turbo lives up to my expectations. It looks beautiful, runs incredibly well, and it still as much fun as I remember. The game is not easy, but I mean what racing game is? Unlike other racing games, this one is created with restarts in mind, allowing you to restart the entire track with the touch of a button. It's great!

A massive improvement from the first iteration. They've added enough single player content to really justify the $60 price tag this time around. I can have a blast just hanging out in the hub world (backyard battleground) with friends.

Few games have managed to stand the test of time as well as Castlevania: SotN. It is a game I will continue to play so long as Sony continues re-releasing it on newer consoles. The soundtrack and atmosphere are my two favorite things about the game. You can tell the composer poured his black little heart into each and every track. If you aren't a believer, embrace SotN with an open heart and I promise you it will not disappoint. It's good to the very last **** blood.

This game plays MUCH better than Hollow Fragment. The PS4 version looks absolutely stunning. You can now play as any of the main characters and you can also have 2 people in your party all the time! This game is a huge improvement over the first and I can easily recommend it to any SAO fan out there!

Yo-kai Watch

User ScoreBitrip

Yo-kai Watch is an open-world mission-based RPG that will have you smiling again and again. Production values here are quite high and you'll quickly notice as the voiceovers, graphics, and cutscenes are all immaculate. The game is very episodic as each day more or less consists of a main quest, though you are free to do as you please throughout. Don't compare the game to Pokemon or you'll be disappointed, it's truly a game of it's own **** that's exactly where its strong points come into play: aside from the storyline quests, everything is optional! Dungeons are optional, battles are 90% optional, fishing and bug-catching is optional, talking to NPCs is optional, side-quests are **** you starting to see a pattern? Another nice thing the game does is reward you for what you like doing the most. You don't only have to battle Yo-kai to gain experience for your party, you can actually get a large chunk of xp from completing favors and requests from locals. I am really enjoying the game so far, I love the real-world setting and the characters are all very charming. The only reason I feel people are confused about some things is because everyone is drawing comparisons from Pokemon. If you are going to compare a game compare Digimon World 2 or 3 because those have far more similarities with Yo-kai Watch than Pokemon does.

LBX: Little Battlers eXperience

I'm slightly biased in my opinion...I have been a Level-5 fan since their first game in the US. Little Battlers eXperience has such a cool concept that any fan of medabots/customrobo/gundam/etc. will instantly fall for. My favorite thing about the game is the fact that the fights take place inside technologically advanced cardboard boxes. Wrap your head around that one! When you are fighting other LBX it doesn't feel like your space is limited at all....I love that! Other cool things the game does: Voiceovers, Good Graphics, Surprisingly Fun Game Mechanics. Some things that you might not like: Some fights are super super hard, customizing the LBX can be overly complex at times, weapon types are 90% melee weapons. Overall I like the game....should I have bought it on day 1? Maybe not, but I have been enjoying it nonetheless. If you like Level-5 or miniature robot arena-style fighters, then I suggest you pick this one up!

I don't know why critics are destroying this game. The best advice I can give you is that the demo plays JUST like the full game, so if you enjoyed the demo then you definitely need to buy it! Yes, there are striking similarities to EarthBound but Citizens of Earth really manages to create its own niche. The entire game is a big joke, not taking itself too seriously. If you are buying this because you thought it was going to be a modern day EarthBound then of course you are not going to like it. When you start playing Citizens of Earth leave your preconceived notions at the door and don't take the game too seriously. If you're not laughing while playing, you're doing something wrong.

Akiba's Trip: Undead & Undressed
8
User ScoreBitrip
Aug 26, 2014
Akiba’s Trip: Undead and Undressed aka Akiba’s Trip 2 is an Action Roleplaying game that takes place in Akihabara Japan (pronounced ah-kee-ha-ba-ra). Visually, the locale shows striking similarities to New York City. Akihabara tries to create an atmosphere where game and anime worlds come to life. As such, the streets of Akihabara are covered with anime and manga icons, and cosplayers line the sidewalks handing out advertisements. It’s a video game fan’s dream come true. I don’t want to give away any of the plot, but the game combines two genres we don’t often see coming together here in the west. Visual Novel & Action RPG. It does so brilliantly, in fact it even gives the player choices during dialogue, allowing every player to shape and mold the story according to the choices they make. For reasons I won’t explain, during combat your main goal is to strip your opponents clothing off of them! It’s a hilarious tactic that’s fleshed out incredibly well. You lower their clothing’s durability by attacking different parts of their outfit via the triangle, circle, and cross buttons. Once a piece of clothing is damaged enough, you can initiate a grapple to remove the item. You can pick up items your opponents drop, including clothing, weapons, and money. Exploring Akihabara is a pleasure as you can shop at most of the stores, and citizens lining the streets are full of dialogue and unique behavior. You often travel with a companion character who does their best to aid you. You can access your email and faux twitter accounts via smartphone. The game does a good job of making you feel like you are really living in Akihabara. So far I love it, the production values are high, there are easter eggs hidden everywhere, and the characters are all unique enough to make me want to actually talk to them. The combat controls aren’t quite as tight as I would like, but they still manage to get the job done. Depending on how long the campaign is, and how many possible outcomes there are…I can see myself playing this game well into 60+ hours.
