If we’d come to the start of this season expecting some world-changing, life rearranging shake-ups to serve as the prelude for an epic finale, we might be a little miffed; approaching it as one last blessed run of one of TV’s best comedies, though, and it’s clear the show knows exactly what it needs to deliver for this final stretch.

A great show with stellar casting. Hilarious and rewatchable. Hate that they are ending it with six seasons. A must watch for comedy fans.

A fitting darkly comic final season for a show that has rarely failed to entertain over the years.

Six seasons in the current TV climate is no slouch, and “What We Do in the Shadows” continues to operate as well-oiled machine.

If anything feels a little unfocused it’s ultimately where Guillermo goes now that he’s rejected living a vampire existence. The outside job episode is a hoot because his clinging friends have issues letting him go, but how he remains as vital in their orbit remains to be seen. Lazlo and Colin’s arc, the return of a very funny Jerry and the tipping up of other full circle moments starts this last hurrah on a high note.

If the first few episodes of What We Do in the Shadows' final season prove anything, it's that the show has hardly become draining to watch.

If the three episodes I've seen are any indicator, "What We Do in the Shadows" will end just as strongly as it started and has maintained for the last 5 years.

The main aspect of “What We Do in the Shadows” that allowed it to become one of the most beloved comedies of the last decade was the way in which its cast blend and bounce off of each other. They’re divided here–though they still share the screen quite often–in a way that makes this final season feel stunted rather than bittersweet.

WWDitS Season 6 is a real mixed bag. The cast is still game, but it seems like the rest of the creative team has totally run out of gas. (Nandor's Army, in particular, may be the worst episode of the series.) There are many hilarious and inspired moments floating around in a soup of lame gags, boring plotlines, and mawkish sentimentality that feels wholly out of place. (Lazlo and Nadja, in particular, have devolved into saps who sit around talking about their feelings for one another). There's little in the way of a plot to progress -- previous seasons have had decent A-story arcs, but Guillermo (and gang) working at a capital investment firm was easily the worst of the lot -- so the whole season feels incredibly stilted and aimless. This was one of my favourite series, and now I wish it had ended a season or two ago. The last episode was such a non-event that I had to double-check that it was actually the series conclusion. Sad to see this otherwise incredible show go out with such a whimper.
