Hill and McBride are able to strike a balance between biting comedy and introspection.

Vice Principals is as profane and outrageous as HBO comedies get. Once you realize where this is headed, you’ll want to stay after school just to see how it all plays out.

Vice Principals is the story of an unlikely partnership, and Goggins and McBride prove deliriously entertaining in evoking Neal and Lee's rocky relationship and oft-guarded passions.

This is a Danny McBride comedy--not exactly funny, but weirdly engaging in its own uncomfortable way. His fans should be pleased. Everyone else will be puzzled--or worse, repulsed.

If you can get through the first two puerile episodes--and that’s a big if--of Danny McBride and Jody Hill’s mean-spirited school comedy Vice Principals, you’ll probably notice a much better and possibly smarter work of satire lurking just out of reach.

It feels often as if the show cannot contain the anger and resentment it is trying to tap into, and instead of doing the work of converting it into comedy, it has just unleashed unpleasantness into the ether.

Danny McBride at his hilarious best. The show is funny, endearing and surprises you by crossing 'the line' from time to time. You end up rooting for these two and their unique alliance against Dr. Belinda Brown and you have no idea how you got there. Brilliant writing and even better acting.

Idk what is up the behinds of some of these reviewers but this is a great, 90's style comedy about 2 buffoons getting into trouble, possibly finding love and forming an unlikely hate/friendship based on themselves needing one another, mostly b/c no one else can stand them. And Goggins is absolutely fantastic completely transforming himself into an annoying angry, southern hillbilly metrosexual , intellectual wannabe trying to climb the the high school job ladder.

My brother and I watched this together and we said "first one to laugh is the loser." Ended up a tie 0-0. My cousin Sandi Buckles said she liked it because i reminded her of her hometown and I said, "You always talked about how you hated it there." And then she looked me right in the eye and said, "I think you're right."

It's half as funny as Eastbound & Down - Gamby (McBride) has none of the endearing qualities that Kenny F'n Power had, and all the annoying ones. Walton Goggins seems like the far funnier & more watchable, but we saw very little of him in the pilot. Here's to hoping we get a good deal more of him. And that some of the supporting characters (like the new teacher who was looking out for the smart kid) get more prominent roles. Thought Gamby's daughter has potential to be funny, as does her new stepfather (Boardwalk Empire; All the Real Girls).
