The Vince Staples Show

This was an enjoyable watch. I only wish there were more episodes so the characters could be fleshed out and developed further. There's definitely potential here. Vince and the team behind this are in their bag.

While this show does without a doubt bare resemblance to Atlanta, it moves along at a far brisker and broader pace with more outright humour and dark charm. The first episode comes across a quite slow with a great cameo from Bryan Greenberg ramping up into episode 5 with an intense and slightly obtuse ending. The characters are all quite invested and it is a far smaller and tight knit cast with Vince’s mum stealing the show played by Vanessa Bell Calloway in episode three capturing the hostility of family affairs. While people are overtly picky about its similarities to Atlanta and even some points Curb Your Enthusiasm the self contained stories and stellar cast hopefully will get another season and get to shape this into a show that stands on its own two feet but as is it’s a stellar and quite short and contained watch for season one and hopefully we get another few seasons it has amazing potential !
