The Vince Staples Show: Season 2
70
Critic ScoreBen Sherlock
Nov 6, 2025
It’s as funny and charming as its title star, it’s as wonderfully surreal as Atlanta, and it breaks away from the usual format of a conventional TV comedy. Season 2 is darker, scarier, and longer in the tooth than season 1, but all those things are still true.

I Love LA: Season 1
60
Critic ScoreBen Sherlock
Nov 3, 2025
I Love LA isn’t a bad show, but it’s not a great show, either (at least not yet). Shows like The Bear and Insecure and Somebody Somewhere make it look easy to seamlessly blend hilarity and humanity to reflect the messiness of real life. But I Love LA highlights how hard it is to pull off that balance.

Chad Powers: Season 1

Critic ScoreBen Sherlock

As it stands, Powell is carrying Chad Powers on his shoulders. He’s funny, charismatic, and committed, and he mastered the art of a performance within a performance in Richard Linklater’s Hit Man. The writing just needs to catch up to the hilarity, originality, and conviction of Powell’s performance.

The Lowdown: Season 1
90
Critic ScoreBen Sherlock
Sep 24, 2025
The Lowdown might not be as profound or deeply touching as Reservation Dogs — that show captured the full spectrum of the human condition by weaving fleeting moments of joy into the most horrible tragedies imaginable — but it’s not trying to be. .... As a subversive comedy noir, The Lowdown’s primary focus is going for dark, twisted, “Should I be laughing at this?” laughs, and it gets plenty of them.

Only Murders in the Building: Season 5
70
Critic ScoreBen Sherlock

The writers have got the formula down to a fine art: assemble all the suspects and persons of interest on the chessboard, shuffle them around with each new piece of information that comes out, and give the audience just enough clues to keep them guessing while they try to figure it out.

King of the Hill: Season 14

Aug 29, 2025
Most sitcom revivals feel stale and unnecessary, but King of the Hill season 14 is the rare reboot that lives up to the original series, justifies its existence, and feels exciting and new.

Peacemaker: Season 2
80
Critic ScoreBen Sherlock
Aug 29, 2025
Some of the gags go on a little too long, and the tonal shifts between goofy humor and gritty drama are occasionally a little jarring, but Peacemaker continues to be a joy to watch in its long-awaited second season.

Sausage Party: Foodtopia: Season 2
20

Aug 29, 2025
Since they’re working with derivative writing and animation that isn’t particularly interesting to look at, the voice cast is really the only thing that makes this show watchable.

Hacks: Season 4
100
Critic ScoreBen Sherlock
Aug 28, 2025
Hacks season 4 made me laugh a lot, but I also got choked up a few times, too. Amidst all the tensions and bickering between Deborah and Ava, the series makes sure to fit in a couple of heartwarming little moments to show that, deep down, they still love each other. Most TV shows are dying at this point in their lifetime, but Hacks continues to thrive.

The Rehearsal: Season 2

Critic ScoreBen Sherlock
Aug 28, 2025
The first season of The Rehearsal was a truly unique television experiment, so it was always going to be a tough act to follow. But season 2 manages to be even more daring, profound, and subversively hilarious. No one thinks quite as far outside the box as Fielder.
