"Ten Year Old Tom" is something of a comedic triumph, however. Tom is a mix of the biblical Job and a bemused character out of a Beckett play, and the show is original enough that one goes looking for comparisons. ... "Ten Year Old Tom" has cult hit written all over it.

The unexpected guest spots, like Duchovny as the depressed ice cream truck driver, are also hilarious. But what Dildarian has done a good job of is building the community around Tom, where characters voiced by people like John Malkovich fit in well.

I saw Ten Year Old Tom on the CBC Gem App. I figured it was Canadian made if it was on the CBC. From the very first episode I was in love. I binged season one because it had been out for a bit. There's so many things I could say about this show. The animation isn't the best, but it doesn't matter. This show is Hilarious! The lead protagonist, Tom is so funny. The writing is great. The show is the best. I worry that it's going to get super popular & then they'll hire a bunch of new writers & then it will sell out! The Characters are great, the dialogue and storylines are fresh and Funny. Season 2 was even better than the first. Which is always a great sign. After having Such a funny 1st season, some shows fail at making it develop into something even funnier. I could list a bunch of examples. Instead, just go watch and enjoy!

The absurdity is less extreme, and the depth to which situations can descend is limited. But there’s also a sweetness that Life & Times of Tim couldn’t always achieve. Beyond Dildarian, whose plaintive monotone is surprisingly varied, the vocal cast here is a delight, starting with Malkovich. ... Ten Year Old Tom is well worth checking out.

This show is absurdly funny. I don't even know how to describe it. It's kind of like Norm MacDonald meets Recess meets South Park? But more realistic and more cynical. This is probably the funniest show I've seen all year. Definitely for an adults sense of humor, but seriously entertaining. Binged it all two days.
