One episode in and I'm hooked ! Reminds me a lot of the Laloux/Moebius film "Les Maîtres du temps" which is an all time favorite. Atmospheric vibe, clear plot, but set in a whimsical and at times terrifyingly unfamiliar world. Instead of constantly explaining everything, things are mostly presented starkly for the viewer to accept or wonder about. Excited to see more.

it's just TV sheesh show looks great, characters are compelling and easy to feel connected to. i read the hobbit, lotr, and silmarillion 25 years ago so you'll have to forgive my memory but i have no problem with this show fitting within the tolkien universe. laughable to think all these 0 voters all knew him personally and are the final arbiters of his will and intent. doubt anyone reads internet reviews when they can just watch the show for free (one way or another) and make up their own mind but i'm glad this was made and look forward to the rest of the season, one of the best show on tv rn !

almost unwatchably bad uninteresting characters that you feel nothing for. politics that have no weight. mediocre writing. the sets are beautiful though ! probably not gonna watch the 2nd season if there is one.

Very cool show, definitely for fans of Lost's plot and maybe the pacing of Twin Peaks (but not the weirdness). It's pretty rare to get a show with two "old" leads, especially with this amount of depth and humanity. Maybe the writers are a little too heavy handed at hammering home their age but it's certainly effective at building an extreme amount of empathy for them. Instead of the "crouching tiger, hidden badass" that almost every other show/movie would go with we get incredibly realistic characters that have relatable joys, challenges, and flaws. The sci-fi aspect is more than just a pretense to explore different relationships and the balance works quite well. Unlike LOST where viewers needed enough fast action and wild mystery to last a week until the next episode, this show has a more deliberate pace and worked better for me watching an episode a day. Don't expect a Raised by Wolves or The Expanse level immersion in an imaginary world and with hyper-extreme characters that you don't really connect with though. It's much closer to Outer Range where the stories about connection and family and the mystery of the unknown feed off and support each other. In some regards, there's a level of wholesomeness to the show that leaves me happier and more optimistic and people in general than when i started watching. I felt primed at multiple junctures to worry about what a character experiencing tough emotions might do next and was rewarded with pleasant surprises and a realism of choice and action that you don't often see these days. Can't wait for Season 2 !

great if you like 80s nostalgia. very similar vibe to "On Becoming A God In Central Florida" but apple-tv-ified. bits of GLOW and maybe even Enlightened in it as well. the inner monologue narration throughout isn't it's strongest feature but maybe there isn't an alternative. great acting from Rose Byrne, less so the rest of the cast.

sort of an american Samurai Champloo. that comparison can get in the way when you first start watching though. it's a very compelling series with interesting themes of acceptance and being an outsider as well as the classic honor and love. the music and animation are great and i'll watch anything Stanfield is involved with well worth a watch

exceptionally entertaining. don't be put off by the premise or title. this show is 10x as well written and acted as any other teen show on netflix. if you liked Hulu's pen15, or Molly Shannon's Superstar, maybe Clueless, Psych, or Tuca and Bertie as well, you will like this. the show has great sardonic humor and while ostensibly about bounty hunting, the core of the show is about personal relationships. despite the omnipresent humor, there's an honesty and believable portrayal of family and growing up that's missing from all but a few shows that share similar marketing.

excellent ! if you like Bob's Burgers, you'll like this. the key is that it is a pleasant and unoffensive place to go for a little bit. this show (and BB) bring so much joy and peace to my life for 30 min a week. the songs really aren't something i love but if you go with it they can grow on you. i only started watched because of whats-her-name leaving and i support that but will be sad to see the show end. stanley tucci is the standout here, i would watch a spinoff just of him.

this one is tough. i felt like it started out strong in the first 3ish episodes but it quickly devolves from there and becomes unwatchable. an interesting and relevant topic with valuable things to teach viewers but the writing and directing need work.

great stuff ! even if you're not into basketball this is a good story and you won't be bored. my biggest complaint is with the structure. it's very hard to get a cohesive picture of everything going on at one point in time because each episode can span one topic across Jordan's whole career. So you have to try and remember if the middle of one episode happens at the same as the beginning and end of two others.

Exciting, fast paced, show with great style. The atmosphere of everything on this is very "fresh", reminds me of the movie Collateral. The plot is easy to follow and engaging as well as the acting. The environments and cinematography will keep your eyes on the screen. The soundtrack works exceptionally well, a bit of a Friday Night Lights vibe imo.
