Beef: Season 28
Apr 18, 2026
Season 2 is very good but season 1 was great. I think season 2 starts out very strong. The criticism on laid stage capitalism is laid on a little thick - idk, maybe it needs to be considering today's audience of people sitting on their phones. It seemed like around episode 5 or 6 there were a lot of threads and places this could go, but it went in a somewhat obvious place. That's fine - nothing wrong with it as it leaves you wanting more every step of the way. But it just didn't quite peak as season 1 did. Still very worth watching.

Margo's Got Money Troubles6

This review is through 3 episodes. I think it's decent. It looks good, it's shot well, acted fine, Fanning and Pfiefer are fine. It's all just fine. It picks up once Nick Offerman comes in but prior to that it's just a bit on the slow end with exposition that is somewhat obvious if you read what it's about. I'm not sure the first episode was entirely necessary. My major issue at this point is just with pacing - but maybe it works out as every episode has been better than the last and the cast works well.

The Sandman: Season 25

Really lackluster. It had good moments, especially after the first two episodes, but it was boring on an every episode basis. Seemed uninspired. I'm not familiar with the source material, but found this just a chore to get through.

I'm just not really sure what this is trying to be. Or maybe I'm not the market audience as a 40 something guy. It starts out interesting. The characters are warm, actors seemed great. I loved seeing Wood Harris again. But the series never really goes anywhere. The acting music and various other things are done well enough, but the plot seems to tread water after a couple episodes. Again - this might be because I'm not the demographic. It was never bad. But it was safe, and never risky either, especially the last few episodes. It seemed to use 8 episodes on a pretty common story that could have been told in four.

Dopesick: Season 19

The two comments about wanting a documentary are lousy -- obviously there's a documentary on it. Feel free to read Empire of Pain for an even deeper dive. This is really well done. The only thing I would really argue with it is that it jumps in time a bit too much, and the voice on Richard Sackler is the most annoying voice I've heard. Like Dark Knight Bruce Wayne but 100x worse. Otherwise, great series, very engaging.

It's like trying to take Succession, make it British, boring, and have almost nothing ever happen. I watched 4-5 episodes but it seemed directionless and uninspired. There was just not a great reason to keep watching this.

This show is absurdly funny. I don't even know how to describe it. It's kind of like Norm MacDonald meets Recess meets South Park? But more realistic and more cynical. This is probably the funniest show I've seen all year. Definitely for an adults sense of humor, but seriously entertaining. Binged it all two days.

Crossing Swords: Season 16

This is **** has times it's really funny, and other times just everything it does could be better. It's good in a 'nothing else is on' kind of way, but not something I'd actively seek out. Not terrible, but not great either, and not funny enough to justify the animation.

The Midnight Gospel: Season 13

This isn't particularly good, too bad cause it looks like it has all the tools to be. But it just isn't. There's no coherence, no story, and no reason to care about the discussion.

BoJack Horseman: Season 69

Better than season 5, but still not as good as the peak at seasons 3/4. I think repeat viewings of season 6 will be kinder than the first time around.

Not funny. Not sure what the appeal of this one is. Watched a few episodes and didn't even smirk.

I'm just shocked by the positive feedback this has. I don't get it. What has this show done to earn a 9.4 or whatever it has among critics? Mediocre television. There are shows that does everything this show does significantly better, while not having such an annoying lead character.
