It’s another slickly packaged Star Wars bundle from creator Dave Filoni that does a lot with a little.

While the stories in Star Wars: Tales Of The Underground are a little skimpy, they help to deepen the characters of two well-known franchise villains.

Although at first glance it might seem like just another entry in the expanded Star Wars universe, Tales of the Underworld turns out to be quite an interesting offering. It dives into the shadows of the galaxy and brings two classic Clone Wars villains back into the spotlight, giving them some well-deserved depth. It doesn’t break new ground, but it does offer narrative fragments that enrich the larger **** Bane’s arc, in particular, stands out. You can tell there’s an effort to explore the motivations and moral codes behind his ruthless image. The animation is solid, with the same recognizable style seen in The Bad Batch or Tales of the Jedi, but with a slightly darker, almost noir tone. Some of the stories do feel too short or predictable. Certain decisions could’ve used more development, and some scenes needed more room to breathe. Still, the overall feeling is of something purposeful, respectful of the lore, and filled with moments where the galaxy’s underbelly becomes the perfect excuse to explore moral ambiguity. This isn't a series for everyone. It lacks the emotional core of Rebels or the dramatic weight of Andor, but it knows what it wants to say and stays on course. Plus, veteran fans will find plenty of rewarding nods and **** a masterpiece, but it leaves a good impression and subtly expands Star Wars’ grayer corners. For those curious about life beyond the Republic and the Empire, these tales are a worthy detour.

For better and worse, Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld feels very consistent with the flagship series it's spinning off from. Cad Bane's half has the powerful character moments and depth that Dave Filoni's animated Star Wars shows have become widely beloved for, but Asajj Ventress' half has the frequent filler that the same series routinely stumble into.

Although Tales of the Underworld makes for a light, sometimes entertaining watch, it’s too obsessed with reveling in its own mythos instead of giving us something new.

Star Wars animation has never looked or sounded better, but it just doesn’t live up to the storytelling highs of Lucasfilm Animation’s other projects.

Decent series. It doesn't do anything wrong, it expands upon some characters that we are familiar with, It is enjoyable, but nothing interesting. If you crave some decent Star Wars content, it's fine. The first 3 episodes have a more interesting story then the 4-6 episodes.

Great animation, but the storylines are somewhat dull. The Ventress episodes are a little better.

6/10 ~ Very Starwars This was yet another direct sequel to Clone Wars/Rebels (Much like the Ahsoka Series) featuring Ventress... or atleast part of it? Yeah that didnt make sense for it to be two diffrent short stories, but Ventress is one of my favorite "Modern" Star wars characters so anything more with her is appreciated.

This anthology series consists of filler material with plenty of action but forgettable storytelling. The animation style and voice acting are also not very compelling.
