It’ll be an entertaining May the Fourth binge, and likely an engrossing one for Star Wars fans of all levels.

Small but perfectly formed, Tales Of The Empire is a dark, delicious treat for deep Star Wars fans. ‘Tales Of The Rebellion’ next, please!

Great acting, great animation, and honestly probably Kiner's best ever score. The first half of the show is a bit vague and poorly-paced/explained, it feels like they needed a few more episodes to truly flesh out Morgan's story, but it's still solid overall. The minor flaws with Morgan's story are made up exponentially by Barriss' story, which is just nearly perfect. It's emotional, well-written, well-paced, depthful, works with the larger lore, and is exceptionally detailed in the way it portrays everything - You can see in the animation the subtle differences in fighting style between everyone, the characters' perspectives, the Empire's deep-seeded trickery in making good people believe they're the helpful ones... Beautiful. This show rekindles my faith that Dave Filoni truly knows what he's doing with story as long as he's with good screenwriters, directors, and dialogue writers. The people who dislike this show seem (largely) to be people with poor moral compasses and minor nitpicks based on their perception of the show before it released. While it has some flaws, it only gets better with each episode. 8.7/10

Tales of the Empire is not just another Star Wars series. In just six episodes, it builds a dark and emotionally dense atmosphere, far from the lighthearted adventure we sometimes expect from the franchise. There are no heroic Jedi or epic battles here; instead, we find trauma, loss, and characters trying to understand their place in a world that has changed too quickly.Visually, it’s stunning. The animation continues the high standard set by previous Lucasfilm Animation productions, often pausing on details that convey more than the dialogue itself. Everything moves at a slow pace, but it’s a necessary one, giving space to absorb the emotional weight. Some viewers might find it slow, but there’s depth in the **** two main characters are well chosen, although one may not carry as much symbolic weight in fan memory. Still, their stories complement each other and explore themes rarely tackled in this format. The intimate, psychological focus makes each episode feel like a small capsule of pain, redemption, and, at times, defiance. What works best is the series’ will to explore the cracks within the Empire—not just its machinery, but what it does to the people it touches. Not everyone is a villain or a hero. The series plays with that ambiguity, which is refreshing in a saga that long operated in stark **** short, Tales of the Empire is a mature, visually striking, and narratively worthwhile addition. It’s not for everyone, but for those seeking something deeper than nostalgia or fan service, it delivers. There are harsh moments, others that verge on poetic, and ultimately it adds something meaningful to the Star Wars universe.

This anthology series is a thoughtful character piece that reflects on the questions of pain, loss, and healing that make up the galaxy far, far away.

While the first trio of episodes isn’t as strong as the second, they’re all elevated by contemplative visuals that deliver a fittingly solemn atmosphere. All in all, thanks to efficient storytelling and evocative aesthetics, the series demonstrates that there’s still plenty worth experiencing in this galaxy far, far away.

Tales of the Empire succeeds in many ways at telling more intimate stories than Morgan Elsbeth and Barriss Offee would ever get on The Mandalorian, The Clone Wars, or Ahsoka. But these six episodes get bogged down by exposition, losing some of what makes them so special. Morgan and Barriss deserve their time in the limelight, but their mostly surface-level journeys to and from the Dark Side might not be enough to serve a wider audience.

This is a nice watch but not as good as Tales of the Jedi which set high hopes for me. Animation quality is great but the story isn't as good as it it could've been.

6/10 ~ More just fine starwars I do quite appreciate the background of the life of an Inquisitor, but there just wasn't enough here for it to be good.

Not very Empire-based but at least the Barris Offee episodes are generally good. Still don't know why they thought a Morgan Elsbeth origin story was worth telling.

What a laughable ending for Berriss… why couldn’t she just become an Inquisitor and find her tragic end by the hands of the Jedi she hunted… Or Ahsoka herself…

Sadly waste of time. After the tales of jedi series I had really high hopes for this one.
