Some of the jokes — Henry's bluntness and hyperfixating (which read more like autistic coding than anything else in 2025), punchlines about Bradley's weight, or how difficult it is to pronounce Szczepkowski's name — feel like the product of another decade. These types of jokes luckily taper off as the season goes, fortunately letting the cast rely on their natural charms and chemistry with one another rather than forced jokes that feel recycled from days of CW past.

What works so well about Wild Cards Season 2 in the first three episodes provided for review is that this overarching plot doesn't supersede the "problem of the week" format, or push Max and Cole's swoony flirtation to the backburner. Instead, it acts as a wonderful complementary balance to those other elements, adding dimension to their personal and professional relationship as the three develop in tandem, setting the stage for a second season with higher professional, personal, and yes, even romantic stakes than the first.

The series sticks to more or less the same formula, with a deeply entertaining batch of episodes burdened with the glorious purpose of capping the series off in a satisfying way.

With the premiere so brilliantly kicking things off, Elsbeth fans are sure to be in for a treat as the series airs this fall.

The story does sometimes operate at a stop-and-start pace that mixes long, silent, atmospheric moments with dense plot beats that happen so quickly that they're barely over before you realize you absolutely need a rewatch to fully grasp it. Fortunately, The Old Man is engaging enough that a rewatch is no hardship, and with only five episodes provided for review, the series still has a chance to bring the season to a resounding, heart-pounding close.

History tells us what will become of the three of them, but as far as future story potential, Vikings: Valhalla's finale leaves plenty of space for the storytellers to bring it all to the same vivid, heartbreaking, emotional life as the rest of the series did.

That '90s Show Part 2 proves that it is a charming, funny sitcom all on its own.

My Lady Jane fully embraces the heart and the message of the story it is trying to tell, with comedy and romance woven in masterfully.

This anthology series is a thoughtful character piece that reflects on the questions of pain, loss, and healing that make up the galaxy far, far away.

Though it does stumble in places, the series is overall satisfying and self-contained — with space for another season, should it get renewed — and is an adventure worth watching, either for younger viewers looking for a slightly more grown-up tale or older audiences who enjoy their adventures with a nostalgic feel.
