Solar Opposites

While the misanthropy can be a little overwhelming at times and the balance between the Korvo/Terry plots and the wall feels off at times in both years, there’s an ambitious unpredictability to the writing on “Solar Opposites” that elevates it in every episode.

Solar Opposites Season 4 is another round of madcap, nihilistic comedy that doesn’t stop at anything to make you laugh. It’s irreverent, foul, and unmistakably Adult Swim fodder that’s found a home on Hulu, but that’s part of what makes it so good.

There's stuff to like even in those early episodes, whether it's the glee of the untethered swearing and violence or an eclectic list of references that go as broad as the frequent chiding of Hulu and as weirdly specific as nods to Green Room or eXistenZ. It's the second half that points to Solar Opposites becoming a show I want to watch completely on its own merits and not just as a parallel attraction to Rick and Morty.

Even if it does start to get repetitive at points, Solar Opposites is still one of the better original comedy series that Hulu has to offer, and this latest batch of episodes may just be the series' most entertaining to date.

As inventive as “Solar Opposites” is in spurts, Season 2 shows how much the main four characters are relatively indistinguishable from each other. ... The main exception is Jesse (Mary Mack), who emerges as the main Season 2 bright spot.

Solar Opposites isn't really a series that can grow or change, as its characters don't have interior lives and its makers are committed to whipping up parodies that don't say much of anything. These self-imposed limitations ultimately make the series a bit like the alien family's own busted spaceship: unable to ever take off into a new stratosphere but sufficiently full of high-tech gizmos and extra-terrestrial lunatics that there's never a dull moment.

This show is undoubtedly sprinting by the end of Season 1, but it’s turning too many corners, hitting too many rocky trails, and tripping over too many things. Hopefully, Season 2 will find some newer terrain, and the laces will be tied a little tighter.

Love this show so much, people who say this show hasn't got much to say when compared to Rick and Morty are obviously missing the point of a few of the plotlines. Its as funny as rick and morty, with characters who are just as lovable. Plenty of new ideas here that I havn't seen before in adult animation. While a few characters and the animation may lead you to believe this is just a rick and morty spin-off, by the end of season 1 Solar Opposites has already long escaped its predecessors shadow, easily holding its own as one of the best shows of its kind.

Like many have said, it starts out strong.I really enjoy the first 3 seasons and then really declines from **** line episode where Jesse falls in love with the back of someone neck? It was literally painful to watch. While Justin Roiland might have been a controversial person,it's clear that he provided much of the creativity behind the scenes

A cross between Rick and Morty and The Simpsons. That probably sounds a lot better than it actually plays out in this series. Unfortunately it isn't all that funny or interesting. Short of using some shock humour involving gore there's not much to the comedy. I'm surprised it got 5 season and a lot of media praise. It's made me realise that neither Justin Roiland or Dan Harmon can recreate that season 1-3 Rick and Morty magic.

Solar Opposites is like Rick & Morty's sharper humor got slightly dissolved in a Vat of Acid and instead of humor they added a dash of mediocrity paired with a side of genercism while slapping on the cartoon style of its origination series. I couldn't deal with the stale storylines that never reached the heights of R&M. The tropey "Aliens living amongst us" storyline feels just too forced.

Season 4 is a horrible experience. I wish they had just cancelled the show instead of shoehorning this rubbish.
