In River Monsters, Jeremy Wade’s goals were to take viewers on a special journey to encounter creatures that they may have never even known existed. He has exceeded these goals by traveling to the most remote places on earth is always keeping his audience on the edge of their seats. River Monsters was a series that everyone could enjoy, people that like myths and cryptozoology, people who like history, and for those who like learning about wildlife. What really set this series apart from any other fishing show was the simple fact that Wade would go on to explain what makes the creature dangerous to humans and other animals as well. Wade is always very serious about catching the fish he is after, but always shares a little comic relief from time to time. What adds on to the greatness in the show is that in every episode Wade interviews different kinds of people to help identify the culprit and gets the help of locals, tribal people, etc. River Monsters I would say, is for kids 8 and up due to some of the attacks he describes being graphic. My personal experiences of River Monsters was that it would be just another fishing show, but I got something exactly opposite, I got a show that took me on the adventure of a lifetime. River Monsters inspired me to cast my first line into water and inspired me to possibly become a marine biologists. I really wish that this amazing show could go just one more year. To sum it all up I would say that this is a must watch series and it is worth every second of your time.

River Monsters is one of the best documentaries on Animal Planet. It is really something quite unique, I am personally very interested in freshwater fish, and I still managed to learn a lot. Even if you really don't care much about the shows topic, it is still a great watch, because of the level of intensity that the show has and many other great aspects. Every episode feels like a new great adventure, with a sense of mystery, and you are intrigued to know the truth. It also lightly touches on the cultures of the areas explored by the documentary crew. As a whole, I would recommend any one to watch it, not concerning if you are interested in fish or even animals in general. As said above, for the many aspects, including the fact that everything has been documented surprisingly well. (from what I have seen from the second season, the show seems to have gotten even better)
