President Andre Curtis is just a man with a powerful title, surrounded by characters who are just trying to be people in spite of their extraordinary abilities and abnormal jobs. It’s a big part of what makes President Curtis ridiculous, relatable, and eminently watchable.

Ultimately, President Curtis does not live up to the high bar of Rick and Morty, but it shouldn't try to.

“President Curtis” delivers more on dependability than strict innovation, though that may be what both viewers and a parent corporation looking to beef up its IP reserves on the cusp of a potential merger want.

Through the full 10-episode first season, President Curtis never becomes sharp enough to create a fervent cult of its own, but as a quirky diversion, it offers a reasonable amount of amusement.
