I'm somewhat torn. There is an interesting premise here and I am curious how it turns out. However the pain point (so far) needed to get there isn't worth it. It seems many writers have fallen into a trap of making a bad situation for our protagonist - just seem there is no way out, just feels hopeless and surrounds them with bad awful people. Not sure why this is being done - I guess so there is a payoff later? I'm just finding it isn't something I want to suffer through.
