The passion that the Futurama team has for these characters and this world is clear in every single moment of these new episodes. Some of the jokes do feel a bit dated and don't stick the landing, but on the whole, it's a strong return to form for a beloved series.

From those quippy jokes in the title sequence, Fry’s imbecilic antics, to a dazzling cameo by an iconic rapper, there is something in the newly reemerged series for everyone. Yet, though “Futurama” remains true to its roots, our society sits at a very different place than it did a decade ago. Thus, whether or not “Futurama” can make the same punchy impact it made so many years ago remains to be seen.

These episodes feel like Futurama, though some of the voice actors sound a little older (and maybe a little underpaid) and there are some weird visual hiccups ... but anyone looking to return to a comfort show will have no problem cozying up with this latest revival.

At its best, Futurama remains a charming, sci-fi-tinged hangout comedy in the vein of a futuristic Community or It’s Always Sunny. But the re-reboot only reinforces how great that very first run was, more than 20 years ago.

There's still plenty of great stuff happening in season 11 of "Futurama" that keeps the ship aloft, but if we get a season 12 I hope there's more science fiction silliness and less contemporary satire.

There isn’t a conspicuous dud episode in the bunch, and every episode made me smile and laugh. At the same time, in this batch of six episodes, there isn’t a single memorable new character, inspired episodic structure or mind-warping piece of futuristic whimsy. You could have told me these were episodes from either of the original runs of the series and I wouldn’t have been surprised. That’s both totally acceptable and a little disappointing.

If you haven’t watched the show before, you won’t know what you’re missing, but you probably will be aware that you’re missing something and that this is a problem. If you’re already a fan, you’ll be perfectly happy. If enough fans are drawn to subscribe to Hulu, then party on. A greater concern is that a little of the zip has gone out of the writing and the overall comic conceptualism.

Still one of the greatest animated shows in the history of television. Only "Everybody Loves Hypnotoad" still stands on top.

It's sad to say, but it isn't what it once was. The innovative concepts and risqué humour is completely absent, leaving the characters we love in a very bland and tired setting. The writing isn't completely to blame however, as the acting comes off as deflated aswell. Whether this is due to the uninspired ideas or just the passage of time is unclear. I feel as though they are stuck in past and I really hope they hop in the cryogenic tank to catch up.

Great to see the show back, thank you - the cast for getting together. I've been fan since the beginning of the show in 2000s and unfortunately, this first episode reminds me of the Bender's Big Score. Nothing memorable with spilled out old gags repackaged for the new generation. Maybe I'm too old or had much higher expectations but I feel like this episode is forced by the new network on the creative team and has to check a lot of check boxes. I'd expect much more after 10year hiatus. I only hope this is what was forced by contract and we will see the wit and smirky gags we loved so much in the future(ama). I keep my fingers crossed and hope the season will roll the 'big guns' very soon.

Futurama got woke is what happened, series should of stayed gone, season 10 had a good ending to the series, season 11 felt forced, like it was some nostalgia money grab, the series was suppose to be about the future not current BS, if they are going to do another season, then they better step away from all the woke nonsense.

So one of my friends mentioned there was a new season of Futurama and I decided to start from the beginning before watching the new season. Wow. What happened here? What is going on? The writing has drastically went down hill. While every episode didn't always have some sort of moral or something, there was almost always some sort of character growth or little something here or there that made it feel more meaningful. This junk feels like Looney Tunes. Just random. I don't really know how to describe it? It's like my Step Dad trying to be cool or something. They got episodes that revolve around like bitcoins and bitcoin mining and that somehow translates to a wild west centered theme? REALLY? Are they using some junky AI to write these episodes? Come on guys. Futurama deserves better.
