Dancing With the Stars

It's all so much fun, in fact, that I propose Dancing viewing parties: Break out the wine and crackers and let ABC provide the delicious, calorie-free cheese.

Maybe it's the heat, but it's difficult to imagine anyone disliking Dancing With the Stars, so far the most entertaining new series of TV's off-season. [22 Jun 2005]

Like the millions of other emotionally unstable imbeciles who tuned in, I found myself strangely drawn to the idiotic flair of the whole thing. Watching this show is like traveling back in time, to a simpler era, when most of our pop culture was considered foolish and sad.

Everything looks tacky: the set, the costumes, the lighting, the script (one host actually says, "The tension mounts") and above all the dancing, with its tiresome emphasis on tricks over human contact, or the dancing illusion thereof.

The stars (Trista Sutter, John O'Hurley and Joey McIntyre, et al.) are strictly marginal. The host (Tom Bergeron) is excruciatingly lame. And the dancing is only sporadically scintillating. [26 Jun 2005]

What happened? Was a nice show. Barely watchable now. Tyra Banks I’m sorry is terrible. Completely insincere just like when she had her own show. The production??? Horrible. The wardrobe, makeup horrendous. If you want to save the show, you need a new production team.

Disappointed in this years winner. Should have been James or Kel. I also get tired of Len giving a low score because he did not like the format of the dance. Is this not a dance show where you are judged on doing the routine correctly and the steps good no matter if the personal taste is not your cup of tea? That being said, I don't know if I will continue to watch since this is not won on ability but on the popularity of the person dancing. Sean Spicer as a good example.

If ain't broke, don't fix it. No longer watch this Dancing With the Ghetto. Fire Tom and look what replaces him? Look at the cast. Now 50% black. This is not what kept you on the air. This is not what will keep you on the air. Channel selects to another so quick. I'm gone. And you're gone DWTG.

I’ve been watching this for years, every year it gets worse I am a ballroom dancer, when you dance salsa in Spanish music, not hip-hop you do not use the right music for the dances. Pathetic
