The trailers built up a lot of hype, and it started off well, but from episode 5 onwards, it really went downhill. And sorry for being honesty Javier Bardem’s portrayal of Max Cady was way too cartoonish, bordering on ridiculous. Robert De Niro delivered a masterclass as Max Cady in the 1991 film, whereas Javier Bardem just seemed to lose his way in building the character. Amy Adams weak actress as usual, while Patrick Wilson was the standout for me, along with Juliette Lewis who was a total badass as always, playing that unhinged, crazy woman role. I expected a lot more. Overall, it’s a completely forgettable series that leaves no lasting impression.
