It is meant to make you uncomfortable with stalking, and it succeeds. However, because it's highly autobiographical, there are too many plots for a short series.

No idea how this show became a "thing" for a moment. It does nothing special but still manages to cram in that Netflix message from every other show of the time. Not funny, no real mystery, no real reason for watching. So many good shows out there, this just wasn't one of them imo.... They also hid my review (big surprise there)

Sigh, so brave. NOT. It actually started promising. Turns out this is a pathetically pompous identity politics piece, played out in a pretentious, plodding pastiche of self-portraitures of the "artiste" as a repugnant narcissist posturing as perpetual victim. I like the Scottish accents, though.

There are shows that start as mild discomfort and slowly turn into something that’s hard to shake off. Baby Reindeer is exactly that. At first, it pulls you in almost effortlessly: short episodes, a sharp rhythm, and the constant feeling that things are slipping out of control — yet you still want to see how far it goes. And it does so honestly, because what it proposes is as unsettling as it is sincere.What really stands out is its control of tone. It begins close to awkward comedy, even absurd at times, but gradually lets something far darker seep in. There are no flashy twists designed to impress. Instead, the tension grows emotionally, becoming increasingly suffocating. You may laugh at first, but that laughter doesn’t last **** series works because it refuses to simplify anything. It doesn’t offer exemplary characters or “perfect” victims. Everything is messier, more contradictory, and therefore more human. Decisions are often hard to understand, and that confusion is precisely what makes it disturbing.Richard Gadd carries the entire weight of the story with rare bravery. His performance is physical, emotional, and at times genuinely painful to watch. He’s not acting to be liked or to earn easy sympathy. He simply shows what happens when trauma, guilt, and the need for validation collide without **** short format plays strongly in its favor. There’s no filler, no breathing room. Each episode pushes you further, and once one ends, it’s hard not to continue — not because it’s comforting, but because you need to understand what you’re witnessing.This isn’t a show for everyone, and it doesn’t try to be. It’s uncomfortable, tense, and lingers long after it ends. But that’s exactly why it works.

In a season of just eight episodes, an already impressive story is overcomplicated by multiple plots.

A comedy turned thriller, which leaves you shaken and emotional. Baby Reindeer has been on my watchlist since it came out. When I finally got the chance to watch it, I was blown away by how good it gets with each episode. What I expected to be a fun and laid-back season turned into a whole another genre discussing topics of sexual abuse, ****, and mental health of men. The season gave a gist of a story of a stalker, working funnily in reverse, i.e. woman stalking a man. But it hides so much more than it is at the surface level. Viewer discretion advised as it discusses topics which are normally not presented in this format. I loved how it came around and how the character is shown in the whole show. This is a great example of how behind a laughing face, there hides a lot of grief and pain with trauma. Especially for men who never show it on the **** the moment of watching it, I was going through some mental disturbance, and believe me, this show helped lower some of it, which might sound weird.A little reminder to reach out to people around you and let them know you’re there for them! PROS: - An amazing story and twists - Great narrative and timeline. - Discusses topics that are not shown on mainstream. - I recommend every man to watch this. CONS: - The show is very brutal and if you haven’t got the heart for it, it might leave you mentally depressed for a while. Rating: 9/10

The series seems to be interesting until the homosexual scenes appear, as Netflix likes to do, which make you sick to your stomach.

A series that keeps you hooked from beginning to end, very good by the way, even though I didn't like the Ending, it's still good.

Based on the lived experiences of the protagonist, makes it a very hard watch at certain points but the rawness portrayed makes it incredibly emotional, with fantastic acting and a truly engaging series.

This is a story about mental illness and paralyzing self-doubt. It is not funny, unless you enjoy laughing at the misfortune of others, and creates an atmosphere of discomfort at every opportunity. Like so many cathartic confessionals, you are not meant to enjoy watching it.

This show is absolutely gorgeous. Well, it has so muchémotionsat the same time. The characters are profunds and it's so well written. Idk how much autobiographical is it but hey, you have to watch it.

The best series I've seen recently. I was hooked from start to finish. The fact that this is based on a true story... pushes even more incredulity (and fascination in a certain way) in front of the hero's **** addition, the acting is very convincing.

It is a very difficult viewing, but the performances especially of the actress playing Martha are very good. The truth of it makes you want to know more and look away in the same time. Not fit for binge watching, it is better to take it in a little at a time.

The plot and storytelling were really successful. If I were to comment on its meaning and importance, it would be a new generation series blended with new generation drama and comedy.

It's a rollercoaster of emotions and an honest work from Richard Gadd to tell a pretty crazy and hard situation.

A frustrating and disturbing watch, which is probably the intention but as an exposé on a male victim it seems to lose itself in many other narratives, as if the show wants us to dislike the victim and feel empathy for the perpetrator.

Very disappointing show. The content is largely not what is advertised, by episode 3&4 it will be very obvious. I can't say exactly what I dislike about it, or my review will mysteriously go missing, but it's a whole lot less about the stalker and the stalked than you'd imagine.

Richard Gadd created this series based on his own experiences. He also stars as a version of himself, a bartender with aspirations to be a comedian. Into his bar wanders a flattering woman (Jessica Gunning) that gradually develops into a warped stalker relationship. This series twists and turns, as his experience widens to include other relationships that challenge his perceptions of himself. All of the performances are impressive and director Gadd tells the story bravely and sometimes disturbingly. It's certainly challenging and frustrating (we kept saying, "Call the police, dammit"), but it's a unique and unforgettable story of mental health and how it can affect relationships. (Seven episodes between 45 & 30 minutes)

Main character is a narcist idiot, he makes series hard to watch. He got so many chances to solve problem in the begining.

'Baby Reindeer' is not just another series, it is a catharsis presented in the most stimulating, tense, and twisted way possible. Richard Gadd, creator and protagonist, draws on his raw life experiences to construct a detailed and disturbing portrait of harassment, abuse, and mental health. With each episode, it is surprising to know that Gadd had to endure very complex situations that, sadly, often lead to a tragic end for many. Therefore, him daring to open up once again represents an act of total bravery. 'Baby Reindeer' is a difficult experience full of twists and almost implausible moments that has a lot to say about codependency, the pleasure it gives us to feel seen (in any way), and the need to feel supported in the darkest moments of our life

It is a heartbreaking, nuanced story that builds to a devastating yet perfect finale. Truly groundbreaking television telling the story of a man being sexually abused and stalked and the trauma that follows. The acting is pure magic, including Emmy-worthy performances by Gadd, Gunning, and Mau. Episode four is a standalone monolith on par with "Long, Long Time" from The Last of Us and "4,722 Hours" from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. This is a testament to the originality and pure genius storytelling at the Edinburgh Fringe. Building a one-hour show from scratch on a less-than-shoestring budget that is captivating enough to fill a 200-seat theatre for an entire month entirely by word-of-mouth and odd flyer, is a feat most are not built for. Once given the chance to tell it on a grander scale, they rarely squander it.

Give Jessica Gunning the Oscar and BAFTA for best supporting actress now. This is a really good show. The intimacy and honesty of Gadd are so admirable. It is really an act of courage and an inspiration to every person/actor to be honest as an artist.

Very original and witty show. Lots of twists. Great acting. It’s definitely an interesting statement in understanding our part in a toxic relationship.
