A horrifying thriller, smart and tightly told, and merciless.

I like the idea of a cybercrimes agent cracking cases through superior knowledge of the Internet. Marsh could be a great heroine for a continuing series. But Untraceable essentially forces its audience to identify with those who would be willing accomplices to torture and murder. To understate the point, that's not an audience-friendly approach.

There is a demon inside every humanbeing taking pleasure in watching people suffer ; that is more deploralble than watching pornography. There is a bit of " Owen Reilly " in every human being. Given an anoymous identity, it is revealed. More than the gruesome painful death of Griffins, it is live streamed and number of people liking it and viewing it reflects the present attitude of Net addicts. This is one of the underrated movies . It made me think a lot what kind of humanbeing we are becoming. Though the law enforcing authorities try to outsmart this dangerous psycho, the latter goes one step ahead eluding them until his luck runs out. Director has done a commendable job keeping gore to the minimum and avoiding nudity in toto. The more the technology, the more sick our minds become. The world did survive before the arrival of internet. It does more harm than good. Well made thriller. Photography, editing and Music everything was without a flaw.

A genuinely creepy film, though not in a "No Country for Old Men" kind of way. More in an overzealous-blog-comments kind of way, or a dude-on-the-bus-looking-at-me kind of way. Just ugh.

A competent suspenser, helped by the always-dependable Diane Lane, but it suffers by following the modern thriller playbook to the letter.

A wan version of the same old tired serial killer story, despite its updated milieu -- cyberspace.

Tepid, borderline offensive cyber-serial killer thriller.

Talk about your pious frauds. I've got a better way to show your disgust for Internet scum: Don't see Untraceable.

I love me a good crime movie, so I'm glad this one made up for the disaster that was FeardotCom that I watched yesterday. In Untraceable, FBI agent Jennifer Marsh has to hunt down a seemingly untraceable serial killer who posts live videos of his victims getting tortured and killed, and as more people log onto the site, the victim will be killed more quickly. Now, I don't know anything about computers and stuff like that, so I'm not sure how realistic this movie really is. I'll admit I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to that. Even if there are some huge tech flaws that flew way over my head, Untraceable did have a couple of major issues. Like many thrillers, the killer seems to be god-like; he seems to have unlimited resources and intelligence, and it would have been nice to see him stumble a few times to at least build more suspense. They also reveal the identity of the killer way too early into the plot. Anonymity would have added a layer of mystery to the film. Nevertheless, Untraceable was a very entertaining, gritty and intense thriller with an interesting moral compass; why should we watch insanely violent and gory movies like Saw, Seven or even the movie itself? It may be rather hypocritical given how violent this film is, and that moral does get a little preachy by the end of this movie. It's still some intriguing food-for-thought. You might not be completely satisfied if you want a completely coherent and terrifying thriller, but if you want a twisty, edge-of-your-seat kind of movie, Untraceable is a great way to go.

Untraceable seems like the kind of gruesome torture flick that has no story and is all about the shock value. Well, I was in for a surprise when the movie proved to get past cookie cutter characters and tacked-on storylines. It has somewhat **** storyline, and although it can't shake off some of the familiar elements from "Silence of the Lambs" and many clichés, it does hold your attention. It's brutal, gruesome, and unrelenting, never letting you out of its grasp until the final scene. And, if you can believe it, Untraceable doesn't become completely implausible until 4/5 into the movie, which is a rarity in the genre.

FBI cybercrimes division, find dodgy website that kills a cat, then a man, then another one, etc, etc. The more people log on to watch, the quicker the victim dies.
Run of the mill thriller, few flaws here and there but nothing too bad.
Bit of a dig at society today at the end.
Watch the Saw films, they're much better at this sort of thing.
