20분부터 눈물을 멈출 수 없었다.자신이 증오하는 엄마의 모습을 반복하는 엄마, 가두어두고 전통적인 모습을 찍어내는 것 만이 미덕이라고 생각하는 아시아의 가치관. 진짜 자신을 버리고 가족이 원하는 모습이 "진짜 자신"이라고 세뇌되는 모습. 너무 귀여운 랫서판다의 모습도 나를 달래주지 못했다.마음이 찢어지는 비극이 너무 예쁘게만 나와서 속상했다. 프리야 역시 비슷한 무언가가 있을까 싶어서 슬프기도 했다.240703 (3.5)-1. Do I even need to explain that this is the worst Pixar movie ever made?? This is an insult.

Maybe for some teenage girls this can be their favorite Pixar movie, but this movie has some very bad messages and annoying characters, Mei is the main character, and instead of understanding her or support her which I think is what the movie wants us to do, I simply do not conect with this insufferable main character and all I want to do is kick her in the face, this is terrible, I dislike this very much.

The only good thing about this Movie is it's animation! It's Story, Characters, and everything else in the Movie is soooo bad! It is cringe and not funny at all. The animation is good but it is not something that I will ever see again

Comovente, bem-humorado, lindamente animado e culturalmente expansivo, Turning Red amplia a longa lista de triunfos familiares da Pixar.

An outgoing Chinese-American girl transitions into early adulthood, triggering an inherited blessing/curse that transforms her into a giant red panda when stressed out. Which, given the competing pressures of schoolwork, steep family expectations and a busy social life, is pretty much all the time. After a brief period of panicked self-isolation, she learns to control the ability and embraces her new lifestyle, but Mom is less tolerant and insists upon a time-honored ritual that will seal the panda away for good. As message-heavy family films go, this isn't half bad, but it falls short when compared to the lofty standards of Pixar's catalog. Mostly because so many of its essential beats have already been struck. Brave hit the mother-daughter dynamic, complete with waves of shiny red hair. Inside Out taught us to have self-confidence and love ourselves. Coco dealt with the weight of family secrets and traditions. I could probably name a dozen more that involve the trials and tribulations of growing up. The fresh cultural flavor is a plus, and lively extroverts aren't usually the focus of this studio's films, but those perks aren't enough to save this from feeling like a big-time retread. On a positive note, it looks incredible. Oodles of color, rich textures and quaint dashes of character fill out a vibrant, energetic city setting, with a super-duper cute lead character (whether she's a human or an animal) dominating most every scene. It's not a miss, it’s just very safe.

Pixar did a really good job making a movie about red pandas and puberty. Too bad many people review-bombed it on social media. I hope the sequel will be better. I hope the sequel will have less controversy than the original.

Absolute ****, first of all. This garbage is extremely inappropriate for kids, secondly, the way it tries to be a cool movie to watch makes it obscurely cringe to the point it's unwatchable. Plus, the antagonist is more like the protagonist making the story make no sense at all. Overall a terrible movie, especially up to the standards of pixar which created some outstanding movies such as soul and monsters in. Do not recommend at all

Honestly, this movie is trash. Not too much to say about it, except that it doesn't keep up to pixar standards. After watching a masterpiece like "Soul", it was hard to watch this abomination till the end.

I hope Luca, Soul, turning Red and yes, even Inside Out 2 will be hits in 2024. Why? Elemental is finally a sleeper hit!

I can only assume "Turning Red" would appeal to 13 year old girls. All I know is that it did nothing for me.

I couldn't care for it if I never have saw it I would have lost nothing because I gain nothing watching this movie and it's pretty cringe.

(Mild spoilers) This is definitely one of Pixar's most controversial movies, if not the most controversial, and it's not particularly hard to see why, as certain scenes are kind of grown-up, while others are kinda cringe. Still, however, it addresses the topic of growing up, becoming a teenager, wanting to gain independence and having had enough of your parents wanting you to be perfect. The panda obviously reflects how teenagers can go from happy to upset in just a few seconds (something I can confirm as a fellow teenager), while wanting to keep the identity of the panda instead of getting rid of it signifies that 1) you are a different person from your ancestors, you don't have to get rid of it just because they did and 2) even if you possess a dangerously powerful ability, if you learn how to control it, it can be beneficial rather than harmful (for example the part they took the photos etc). Of course, the animation and the entire picture is top-tier, as it is most of the fine after all. So yeah there are a few controversial scenes and I get why some people dislike it, but in my opinion it addresses important topics in a fun way, which is why I think it's a great movie. Not the best Pixar movie, but definitely one of the best I've watched this year

I’m just going to say it, this is by far the worst movie I have ever seen! The plot is bad, it has mature themes for a kids movie, it’s unfunny, it’s not enjoyable, the characters are not likable, theirs not much of an antagonist, it’s just hard to watch, and it’s so god damn cringe.

Somehow worse than Encanto. I will say that the music is better than Encanto even though Turning Red is not a musical. I will say that it pretty accurately depicts the chaos that is middle school. The story is cliche and the entire movie feels like if TikTok was a movie.

Turning Red wasn't a popular film and for good reasons. The story is yet again, another woke take on the world. It present the men and boys has stupid, weak, and the women like the only strong characters. On top of that, the way the title reference to puberty, the film to menstruation is just downright awkward (to not use other words). It lack good humour and menstrual jokes are not funny (just imagine ejaculation jokes as comparison). The animation is good, but I though the character designs were not that great. Especially the facial animation was kind of stiff. The music was fine. I really like that they use Toronto for the location, but sadly, the family didn't have any Canadian speaking/expressions (even though they suppose to be there from a long time). I give the movie 58%. Sorry Pixar, but I don't think Ghibli made movies for the woke peoples. They made movies for everyone to enjoy.

Pixar films are known for being incisive and emotionally rooted, and turning red doesn't disappoint on that. Turning red is a triumphant coming of age story that's beaming in diversity (with Chinese, Korean and Indian characters) and rooted in cultural representation. People who think Turning red is centred on Asian culture only will be wrong, because the issues that it raises are as universal as they come; Turning red deftly handles the various themes it deals with, and delivers an easy form of humour to keep things gliding smoothly. The 2000s styling is also a beautiful choice. With a heartfelt story, stunning visuals and score, Turning red is undoubtedly one of the best animations of 2022.

I'll describe Turning Red as the pinnacle of Cringe, although I can't really complain about that...they were 2002 teens so I can't complain, the script is exceptional and the characters are pretty stupidly wonderful, Turning Red is tacky but it manages to be a bad taste that you might like

Turning Red is a movie exclusive to Disney +. Let’s get straight to the point, the film Pixar does not transcribe like a Toy story or a Coco, but does the job with a modern graphic and scriptwriting more than acceptable. Despite a slowness on the classic scenario, we find the Pixar aspect and an Asian mythology that works well for the red panda feature film

I'll give it a 4 for the animation and aesthetics. It is Pixar after all. But the movie itself is not for the majority of the broad Pixar audience. That is to say, this movie is only potentially interesting for girls aged 10-14 who thinks going to a concert with 4 tween-boy idols are "Going to make us women"... It is so cringy. Soooo, soooo cringy. The characters are so flat that I had zero interest in any of them. They seem to try to incorporate some of the emotion characters from Inside - but as actual humans. Doesn't work well. One character being "the angry one" and another character being "the stoic one" and so on. Many reviewers here talk about disliking it for being woke. I couldn't care less. I don't dislike the movie for that as it's not something I tend to even notice. The movie is bad in itself.

I was skeptical first because it was not released in cinema which is normally a huge warning sign. However after the a bit awkwardly first few minutes the movie won me fully over. It is a heartwarming tale about friendship, family, traditions and finding your own way. The charming cast and immersive story are truly excellent. The story stars the 13 year old Meilin Lee (Mei) whose Chinese descendant family runs a temple dedicated to ancestor worship in Toronto (Canada). She is also a bit a child of two worlds as she has interests her parents especially her very traditional and overprotective mother Ming wouldn’t find good like the boygroup 4*Town. However unbeknownst to her there is a family secret involving the red pandas her ancestors loved. I stop here to avoid spoilers but say the movie posters alone spoil a lot. The story is amazing. There are so many elements like family relations, a tale of true friendship, traditions vs your own way, life choices, different world view and more. It is immersive, relatable and heartwarming. Also they do the heroes journey right. There are consequences and character developments. Many modern films fail here miserable. The final act is superb and the conclusion rounds up the great experience. I must praise the whole cats. Be it director Domee Shi who is along Julia Sho also the writer and the fantastic voice actors cast. Rosalie Chiang, Ava Morse, Maitreyi Ramkrishnan and Hyein Park are fully convincing and made you think you want friends like these. Sandra Oh as Ming is amazing and her more silent husband voiced by Orion Lee is sneakingly good too. I find no misstep here and praise the whole cast. The animations won me over too. A unique style and everything looks beautiful. Again no misstep. Overall this movie won me over and it is a shame that it was not released in cinema. I give a bonus point to reach a 10/10 as it felt bad to give a lower rating.

A terrible cartoon. Instead of a kind and beautiful cartoon and pleasant sensations, I got a bunch of slop. For 20 years, anime has degraded and now this modern nonsense has been made 3d.

pretty good. I love the concept and the animation of this film. Had a good time with this. Can't go wrong with Disney animation for the most part.

It's bad, ok yes, the animation is nice but the message is horrible. The problem is not that it talks about menstruation, but that it encourages disrespect towards your parents, because if at least the ending was like the brave one (by the way, I don't like it either, but it's better done) things would have been very different . I don't recommend it at all.

If it wasn't that exaggerated, it really would have been a good piece Unfortunately, although the idea was interesting, it became predictable shortly and you started to wait for the end. The graphics were sloppy at some points, looked cheap, really not Pixar's style. Too overrated and overappreciated. PS, idk if their attitude helps the girl team, just saying, i don't think girls at that age do that, so I don't know what they are trying to expose.

Просто отвратительный, мерзопакостный, омерзительный мультик, в угоду современному тренду лгбт. Не известно по какой причине в мультфильме затрагивается тема менструации и женских прокладок, хотя мультик детский. Так же с одной стороны пытаются привлечь ОГРОМНУЮ китайскую аудиторию, и в то же время вытирают ноги и плюют в традиционные восточные ценности и традиции, пытаясь это все замаскировать под детскую шалость и невинность. Мультик просто ужасный.

Please disregard the foolish people giving this anything above a 4. Their agenda clearly blinds them. The movie is trash. Poorly written. Poorly executed. The message it sends is awful, pathetic even. I don't particularly know why is Disney pushing this kind of garbage onto people when we, the real consumers (talking big numbers here) feel cringe and just walk away. I don't give it a 0 because it reminded me of a better movie.

Not horrible, but not one of Pixar's weakest, also a very weird film. Letter Grade: B
