A great movie from start to finish with enough continuity to earn a deserved spot in the franchise as well as create a new chapter in what could be a refreshing step in the right direction for a fan favorite! Let's hope this gains the cult following like the original for all the right reasons!

Tron: Ares is a really good movie it's not like for who don't like Jared Leto but it's for fans of Tron who loved these movies since the 1982 movie Tron came out & the 2010 sequel Tron: Legacy

The visuals are absolutely breathtaking, but the story could use a lot of work.

Watching TRON: Ares is less like watching a movie and more like watching a highlight compilation of a TV show on YouTube. You get nothing but the highlights, but it's hollowed out due to the lack of plot and character development that's clearly been left out. Unlike in the original TRON and TRON: Legacy, TRON: Ares tries to cover a lot more ground than its predecessors in terms of all the characters, sub-plots, and world-building it tries to do all at once. Not only this, but the movie feels like it was originally scripted to be a TV show with how much more it's trying to cover. But for the most part, the rushed plot development doesn't help the movie out. It only makes the movie feel so rushed and underdeveloped; leaving you with the same kind of feeling you get when you read a 2 minute synopsis of a book over actually reading the book. It leaves you with data and an understanding of what happened, but no emotional impact or investment into the actual story, it's characters, or what the author was trying to convey. If they had made this movie into a TV series instead, it honestly would have done much better as it would have given Disney more time to really bring the story they wanted to tell to life. But if they needed to keep it a movie, they could have easily gutted so much of the characters and sub-plots that were ultimately unnecessary (Eve's friends and coworkers, in particular). In short, TRON: ARES leaves a lot to be desired and prioritizes spectacle, ensemble, and fan service over truly fleshed out and well developed story-telling. And while neither of the two predecessors were well-known for world-building, either, they at least left you with the sense that the movie you watched had a complete and emotionally impactful story that actually mattered and was worth remembering. Something that ARES sorely lacks.

This movie is terrible. I am beyond parsing the reasons why modern movies are terrible. Nothing original and the writing is just freaking awful. Nothing happens in this film to counter that. The original Tron was groundbreaking and holds up surprisingly well as a film; this is some kind of weird cash in that makes zero sense, a la the Marvel universe. Shame on Disney; really: shame on you. This is sh**.

I wish I saw the movie in the theatre, worth it just for the soundtrack. Movie is pretty good, hopefully we can see what happens to Dillinger in the next instalment.

A couple of interesting sci-fi concepts and a few interesting action sequences, but not much else going on this entry to the Tron franchise.

I won’t pretend otherwise: I liked it. Quite a lot. Much more than Tron: Legacy, which always felt visually stunning but emotionally distant to me. This time there’s more drive, more momentum, and even if the story isn’t especially deep, at least it moves with purpose.Visually, it’s a feast. Neon lights, impossible chases, digital architecture built for the biggest screen possible. There’s something hypnotic about this world that blends video-game aesthetics, techno-mythology and full-on blockbuster energy. Not everything fits perfectly, but when the film hits full speed, it **** it complex? Not really. The script oversimplifies some ideas, and there are moments that clearly started from a “this would look amazing in IMAX” mindset rather than narrative logic. But honestly, that didn’t bother me as much as it did others. The film knows it’s spectacle and doesn’t pretend to be something else.Jared Leto is divisive, no doubt. His character doesn’t always land emotionally and can feel more like a concept than a person. Still, the overall experience holds thanks to pacing and a staging that embraces visual excess without **** then there’s the best part: the soundtrack by Nine Inch Nails. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross turn each sequence into something bigger, darker and more physical. There are moments where the music elevates scenes that would otherwise be merely fine. It’s not background — it’s ****’s not a sci-fi revolution or an instant classic. But as a sensory experience and as a stronger return to the Tron universe, it absolutely works for me. You leave with your pulse racing and the score stuck in your head. That counts for something.

I really wanted to like this movie, but why have we decided to stop using plots in modern movies? This movie is all flashing lights and no substance. Hardly any relation to Tron: Legacy to begin with. Can we please stop making movies without plots? The VFX and music doesn't make the movie great unless paired with an amazing plot. Instead of an amazing plot, we have a lightshow and music video. You're better off using scenes for this as your phone background honestly.

Not going to go into detail, but it contained everything I hoped it would for a Tron sequel, and a few significant surprises I wouldn't have predicted. I hope this triggers a series of related sequels. LOVED IT!

This is one of the most visually stunning movies I've seen in awhile while the music and sound design were top notch. It really all came together in an engrossing way. The plot was simple and straight forward with some of the coolest original weapon designs I've seen since the lightsaber.. maybe. My only complaint could be that the main characters were a little one note meh. A little more excitement out of them or something would have been nice, but I had a good time regardless.

This movie was awesome. I came in with lower expectations from Tron: Legacy - not that it was bad, but "mild" is the word I would use. TRON; Ares - "spicy" all the way! Great action, great cast, and fantastic score by Nine Inch Nails. They 'nail' the Cyberpunk feel while keeping in the grungy feel that is original to them. It is so perfectly matched to what you're seeing that it highlights - does not underwhelm nor overpower - and feels to make sense in the film. The humor is perfectly placed - not forced as in many other films - and the action isn't forced either; as far as futuristic fiction goes, people are doing things you think they'd actually be able to do IRL. I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone even remotely interested in seeing the movie.

I did not gate this. Is there a thing called antihype? Was it played? "Dude Tron Ares **** (wink)." Sure, it was loosely based on the previous movies (Tron which was great, Legacy, I didn't care for), but it looked the story they told. Im trying to put my finger on why people did t care for it, but cant. Was it groundbreaking? No. Were there some silly things (like make-up and gendered programs). Yes. However, I still watched it all and never felt bored or went to my phone. Thats says something. Side note, ill pretty much watch anything with Greta Lee - shes super fun and hot af.

Tron: Ares was good. I didn’t expect it to be as good as it was because I sometimes have low expectations when Jared Leto is part of the cast, but he did surprisingly well. The entire cast did a phenomenal job. I would definitely recommend this movie.

Woke garbage. CEO of Encom is now a 20-something woman of color who is good at everything (obviously). Not one of her allies is white. The one male friend (hispanic) is a bumbling idiot. The ONLY white male in the entire movie (outside of Jared Leto, who really doesn't count since Ares is a program, not a human) is the rich, greedy villain.

I don't understand the flood of negative reviews for Ares at all. It seems some expected an existential masterpiece, and the film is suffering for failing to meet those unrealistic expectations... Above all, it is a well-crafted, light movie. The screenplay is consistent and avoids the illogical 'cheap' tropes common in modern streaming content.Visually, it is a tour de force: the CGI is used perfectly without being excessive, the 'Tron-esque' sets are beautiful, and the cinematography is striking. There are also nice nostalgic references to the original. What more could you ask for? While the music is solid, I think the sound mixing steals the show—the way every sound and noise is intertwined with the music is superb. It sounds incredible on a high-end system. Jared Leto is another highlight, bringing a lot of personality to the role, though the rest of the cast felt a bit lifeless. Personally, I think 'Agent Scully' would have been a brilliant villain. PS: This is a must-watch on a large screen with a solid sound setup!

Nonsense. There is more story in those 75 chars than in the movie. Really disappointed.

Great visuals and soundtrack. Jared Leto and Greta Lee both give decent performances, and the story is decent enough for those wanting another adventure from the Grid in all its stylishness. It's not a continuation of Legacy and it's best enjoyed with that in mind. It's a good sci-fi adventure and an audio and visual spectacle.

Story is a bit of a mess but visuals are great, after too serious and very disappointing movies I couldn't even finish, this one felt simple, giving a good show !

Simply fantastic! There is action, plot, and acting blended in the right time and manner, with deep reflections on the meaning and purpose of life. The average scores show just how much this film was underestimated. This movie deserves much more.

Jared Leto Enters a World ****'s a completely utter borefest. This film just looks good, yep, that's it, that's all I have to say. Wow, fancy red lights, great. It's been a while since I've watched a Tron Film, but I think I remember enjoying the predecessor film back in 2010...I was 10 years old. 6/10, I would never recommend this to anyone. Thanks, Disney, you continue to surprise me at how we don't get a Treasure Planet Sequel or any other Sequel for that matter that we would want instead of this. I'm still offering my help because, seriously, anyone with imagination could make a better film. Let me perform a Miracle or two for you.

Modern Disney destroys another one of its intellectual properties. Like many of its recent sequels, Tron Ares completely misses what made the amazing Tron Legacy work, and instead throws the superficial elements hoping they will stick together. Take the cool character and vehicle designs, make a few tweaks (A data disc can now be triangular, wow!), add a famous group for soundtrack, and throw in a Jeff Bridges cameo, it's what them nerds will eat, right? The result is a messy movie that leaves you with fewer IQ points than you begin with. If in Legacy the digitalization laser was a unique thing, here everybody carries it in their backpack. The plot is disjointed, messy and predictable - the puppy-eyed Jared Leto finds feelings and becomes human, roll credits. The lead actresses are completely wooden and lack any sort of charisma. The main villain Julian Dillinger doesn't have a non-cringy line, and his post-credit teaser is ridiculous. The continuity with Tron and Tron Legacy here is thrown in the trash can, this is essentially a bad fan fiction, there are just too many inconsistencies to even begin listing. It's not 1/10 only for generally solid CGI and like two decent tracks on the OST. The fact that NIN actually start singing over some scenes was a ridiculous cherry on top of this bad circus.

There was no way everything could have been more forced, right? 'TRON: Ares' is perhaps the most forced film I have seen in a long time. It feels as though neither the director nor the screenwriters had any hesitation in pushing every narrative situation to its absolute limit. The issue is not the device itself, but its overuse. Scenes built around achieving something “at the last second” repeat constantly, eventually losing all dramatic impact. Everything is exaggerated: the fights, the twists, the consequences for the characters. I am particularly frustrated by the constant protection of the protagonist. The film is incapable of taking real risks, severely weakening any emotional involvement. The cinematography is its only real strength, achieving a striking and powerful look that plays heavily on 1980s nostalgia. The music is also enjoyable, especially thanks to Black Sabbath, although the song choices sometimes feel oddly selected. From a narrative standpoint, the film also leaves much to be desired. It is exhausting, repetitive, cyclical, and empty, stretching over two hours despite having material that could easily have been told in one or less. It mistakes intensity for insistence and excess for epic scale. The weakest entry in the trilogy—though, at its core, it remains watchable if approached with a fair amount of tolerance.

In a nutshell TA is an above average franchise blockbuster with a very impressive budget. Cast, soundtrack,vfx and editing/pacing/production quality all impressed with storyline being its weakest area. OG Tron fans, don't believe the haters and give this movie a try!

It's okay. Is this better than Legacy, that be a strong, no. There were parts that were good, but there wasn't much that got me excited.

‘Ares’ is a popcorn flick with an uncluttered script, a cool look, and a bananas-good soundtrack. Leto delivers an unexpectedly warm and appealing performance. That it doesn’t bother to pretend to make sense should be refreshing.

The grid is always the cool part of any Tron. Killer sound track, but I would of liked more of it interlaced into the film like Legacy. New characters, but it is an extension of the Legacy timeline. The merging of two worlds is an interesting premise. Hoping for a sequel for sure.

I just watched it in 3D, this was a good movie and the best Tron for me. The other two felt like more aimed at kids but this one felt more dark. Loved the music and the special effects. The plot is similar to the previous ones but this one did it better. I didn't feel bored or found stupid plotholes like most movies so this one had good pacing and well written. It is not the best plot but it is expandable. I just don't understand the critics for trashing this movie. One complain is... Where are the old characters asides from Flynn?

Since this movie is still relatively new I won't add spoilers but man... that was a good movie. The visuals were unique and give the movie so much personality. And even if you don't think of checking this movie out, you have got to listen to the soundtrack by Nine Inch Nails. All of the songs hit home. I thought that all of the actors suited their roles well. Especially for Ares and the villains of the movie. I haven't watched all of the Tron movies but it kept me invested and caught me up on a lot of details without spilling the other movies. Overall Tron Ares is a visually interesting, heart-felt, musically appealing, overall great movie and I recommend that you give it a watch as soon as you can.

Once again, one of Disney's best franchises has been trashed. Once again, the miserable left-liberal woke agenda has been applied. Once again, the story has been divorced from its fantastically good and groundbreaking predecessors. Once again, the well-suited actors have been replaced with boring, aggressive, and empty characters and actors. Once again, the white man is stupid, simple-minded, and weak, while once again we see aggressive and empty women as characters. If you want to throw your hard-earned money out the window, fine, but otherwise, please steer clear of this garbage. My advice to Disney: please collect all copies and burn them in the public garbage dump; simply forget that this woke trash ever existed! Simply infuriating!

I am a huge fan of the world surrounding the Tron franchise. It seems that every movie release is talked about negatively at the time of release, and then looked back at fondly. I believe this to be true for Tron: Ares as well. While Jared Leto may be a divisive figure, there is not denying that he is basically an AI turned into a person already, so he actually did really great in the film. The visuals and spectacle are what you come for in a Tron movie, and this one absolutely delivers. Plus, the Nine Inch Nails album made for this is perfect, and probably even better than the Daft Punk score of Tron: Legacy. I you can, catch this film in 3D!

After such a long wait since TRON: Legacy, TRON: Ares was absolutely worth it. It captures the same unmistakable visual DNA but evolves it into something fresh and powerful. The style and design are simply stunning — every frame glows with that iconic TRON energy, yet it feels new and **** soundtrack might not be Daft Punk, but it beautifully echoes their spirit — electronic, pulsing, and perfectly suited to the film’s atmosphere. It feels right at home in this universe.Jared Leto gives a fantastic performance. His internal struggle — conveyed almost entirely through his eyes — adds unexpected emotional depth. You can feel the conflict between program and soul without a single word being ****’s stylish, emotional, and immersive. I truly hope it finds the success it deserves and that the story continues. I’ve got to be honest, TRON: Ares is not a particularly good movie. But as an 80s mega-nerd whose life was set on its current path by the original, I absolutely loved it. The references to the original gave me a buzz that I never got from Legacy. Basically, if you loved TRON, you’ll probably love this one.

Amazing soundtrack and visual effects, worth seeing in the theater. The Tron saga deserves more love.
