Rich filmmaking, from assured camerawork to tactile set decoration, is the film’s basis. But richer exploration of theme and spiritual belief is its design. Things Heard & Seen isn’t elevated. It’s just mature, wonderfully made, and, whether dead or alive, human.

There is a bit of gore toward the end of Things Heard & Seen that seems gratuitous, like a bone thrown to the genre audience. But it also points out how smart the film has been for so long, and so allergic to clichés, while still being satisfyingly scary.

So many idiots here. Wanting jump scares, and overlooking a wonderful movie. Definitely a supernatural drama/thriller rather than horror, but amazing nonetheless. The comments of the harsh reviewers put their lacking IQs on display for all. If you enjoy good filmmaking, you will enjoy this movie

Wonderful film. Enjoyable plot, performances, and filmmaking overall.Very underrated here, in part due to rigid genre expectations from people who seem to have entirely missed the charm and purpose of the film. More of a supernatural drama/thriller if you must impose a genre. Whatever it's categorization, the film is eminently watchable, thought provoking, beautifully shot, and well executed.

The movie marches on in grim, silly lockstep to its themes: a compendium of jump-scare terrors almost exhaustively heard and seen, but rarely calibrated to make you feel much of anything at all.

I couldn’t help but feel like Things Heard & Seen would have been a much better film if they stripped away its ghostly elements in favor of everyday horrors that Pulcini and Berman nailed so effectively in its second act.

Things Heard & Seen has the requisite horror-movie look (deep shades of brown and orange, low camera angles, repeated glimpses of effectively creepy paintings and haunting photographs, religious symbolism everywhere) and Norton in particular is a hoot as just the worst person in the world — but still, Things Heard & Seen should be neither of those things.

You know a ghost story is a hot mess when it strands a stellar Amanda Seyfried and a top cast in a remote, country house haunted by toxic masculinity, dangling plot threads and nothing worth hearing or seeing.

Brilliant use of cinema and ahead of its time. Beautifully shot and acted. This movie needs to be watched twice to be appreciated.

So here is my honest review on this movie, I got the chance to watch this film on Netflix and I was so excited because I am a fan of Amanda Seyfried. It was a good movie, the storytelling was beyond good. I love how they managed to connect each scenes on the film, but the dark twist at the end left me want more to happen to the lead characters before the movie ended. Though this film is watchable, I can say that it is really not for everyone. It has a touched of mystery, unsolved scenarios and shocking scene that leads to some kind of a desperation you want to get out with. But I love how they put the story interesting, the cinematography was so nice, like you were thinking already if it really suits the movie or not. But eventhough I'm not a fan of the turn of events this film has at the end of it, I did still enjoyed it.

A boring and illogical horror flick. The first half of this movie was passable; I was actually excited to see the husband portrayed as a villain, but the execution in the second half was very poor. The characterizations in the movie are half-baked, and nothing truly reached a thrilling level at the climax. The only positive aspect of this film was the narration, but even that was underutilized. I would recommend not watching this film, as there isn't even one memorable character.

I found this boring, very boring in fact. It was so slow with so little happening. They laboured every moment of the film which made it feel so predictable. It felt like they were treating the audience like they were not even paying attention a little so they had to make sure every point was repeated and drawn out so someone who wasn’t watching would know what is going on. It shouldn’t have been a ‘scary’ film. It should have been a drama and then maybe the long character development would have been acceptable and I wouldn’t have watched it. The visual effects in the ending looked terrible. It was nicely shot and acted though. The music and sound design was good too. None of that though can save a generic film with a generic title that I have already forgotten.
