The direction keeps things moving along nicely, while the cinematography makes the whole production look bigger and slicker than it would come across otherwise. Couple that with a decent script and two strong lead performances, and one gets a fine entry into the survival-thriller genre.

Fans of cheap thrills and cheesy B-movies are sure to be frustrated by The Requin, a new shark pic that waits about an hour before introducing major carnivorous fish action. That alone might turn off viewers since The Requin only lasts about 89 minutes, and most of the movie plays out like a soapy two-hander about survivor’s guilt.

This is actually a very watchable movie. Most current movies are disturbing, I cannot watch them. But this movie I finished and had a good time.

Alicia Silverstone is incredible here but I feel like this movie was supposed to be about the husband and wife adrift after the storm before some producer told someone to "add sharks" I liked Alicia Silverstone and James Tupper's characters, I thought they had great chemistry and saved the movie from being awful. I could have done without the bad CGI sharks and dollar store special effects but it is what it is

And I’ve always wondered why Alicia Silverstone wasn’t cast as the lead in Cast Away…

I can cast aside the awful filming style, effects, and acting. But the shark has to show up earlier than an hour in if the movie is called 'The Shark'

Worst film ever. Bad acting, boring, not enjoyable whatsoever, absolute garbage.

I'm not joking when I say this. This is the worst film I've ever seen. From the acting to the writing to all of the CGI, this move is unwatchable. Don't waste your time or money. I beg you.
