The House isn’t quite another Will Ferrell classic but it’s a solid comedy offering that’s well put together and very funny. It’s as smart as it is stupid, it’s very entertaining, it delivers on what you’d expect it to and holds a few neat surprises.

You get flashes of the clever comedy this might have been — a funny line here, an amusing bit of business there, the occasional whiff of relevance — but it too often lumbers along, coasting on the backs of some very talented performers.

THIS MOVIE IS DROP DEAD HILARIOUS!!!!! I cannot wrap my head around the negativity on this movie it makes zero sense. Jason Mantzoukas steals the show in this one it really should be his movie. Dont second guess this one its Good, there has to be some conspiracy surrounding the terrible ratings or something.

Wow maybe I did not expect high ratings, but definitely not so many negative ones - I really enjoyed it and found it hilarious, ok maybe because I like gambling and aspects of it I found it funnier, but check it out for yourself, I doubt it is that bad as it is said to be

The exuberant comic talents of Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler are largely wasted in this uninspired addition to the frat movie canon, which resembles reheated leftovers of the Hangover, albeit with a curious detour into some heavy bloodletting.

All these performers are given decent setups, but the script loses interest in anything that starts to look like a comedic through line.

It would almost be impressive how many funny people it took to make something so unfunny — the full ensemble includes Nick Kroll, Allison Tolman, Michaela Watkins and Rob Huebel — only it’s difficult to be impressed when you’re focused on how little you’re laughing.

Strained, shrieky and lacking likeable characters, it bizarrely forgoes any insight into parenting, gambling, or the cost of education for Grand Guignol limb-lopping.

Very funny people are running around onscreen doing very unfunny things.

This movie is better than anyone cares to admit. If anyone would look at this movie as a comedy then they would notice how fun and entertaining, this movie is. I honestly had a lot of laugh out loud moment while watching this, and that is pretty rare. The humor was more often on point than not. The comedy cast is just perfect, and very well acted, and a lot of perfectly improvised scenes. Directing style was all right, nothing special and also the plot was a little bit lack luster. But the movie really shiners as a comedy. Overall it's a good movie.

I thought it would be a lot funnier. Still a decent movie. It would be awesome to turn a house into a secret mini casino.

There's always an alternate way to deal with everything issue! One of those comedies that every year makes out. Despite not the best film, still fun to watch. But the thing is it is not a big screen film. I mean for todays world, watching this kind in cinemas, totally useless. On the weekends, watching it with a bunch of friends on the streaming platform or television would do better. The story was much better than I anticipated. It was about the parents who lost their daughter's college scholarship, now wants an alternative solution, so they decide to go illegal. I mean gamble and then they make one, a gambling house. The consequence of it haunts them and what happens later is the film's end. The screenplay writer's directional debut. The cast was just good. The runtime was even better, less than 90 minutes. So there's no drag, except a few unavoidable cliches in such comedy. Jeremy Renner's cameo was good. Overall, watch and forget kind film. But the idea looked nice, so I won't be surprised if they make a sequel to it. If a crappy comedy like 'Neighbors' makes one, then why not this! But I'm not in favour, unless they come up with a better storyline. 6/10

A lot of great comedians in this and yet woof. This is so slapdash there’s no way this wasn’t more than some contract obligation for most involved.

The only good thing about this film was Jason Mantzoukas - Amy Poehler was awful and pretty disgusting. Smiled / Smirked at one part. Terrible waste of time
