Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

A stirring follow-up that tops the formidable original, Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse draws us deeper into Miles Morales’ saga while offering the same stunning animation, dazzling set pieces and irreverent humour.

And if all of this sounds like a tremendous amount to pack into a single film, there’s the rub. In a somewhat disappointing twist, “Across the Spider-Verse” isn’t really a single film, it’s instead one-half of a planned two-film sequel.

Led by directors Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson, the animators lend clarity and excitement to the action, humanity to the characterizations, and—above all—a distinct vision for each of the worlds we visit.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse travels worlds to upend its own status quo, spinning a truly unique and sometimes devastating narrative that finally matches its visual ambitions.

It’s just this impressive amalgamation of realism and stylization that allows “Across the Spider-Verse” to transcend its narrative shortcomings: Even at its most obscure or muddled, it’s never less than a pleasure to watch.

One of the only sequels I've watched that's better than the original. Beautiful visuals and amazing, unique characters.

um filme visualmente impressionante, com uma direção de arte extremamente criativa e ousada. A animação mistura estilos diferentes o tempo inteiro e cria algumas sequências realmente memoráveis, que mostram até onde esse tipo de linguagem pode ir dentro do cinema de super-heróis. Miles Morales ainda funciona como personagem em muitos momentos, principalmente no lado emocional envolvendo sua identidade e a pressão de ser quem ele é. Gwen também ganha mais profundidade aqui, e a dinâmica entre os dois ainda sustenta parte do interesse do filme. Mas o que mais me incomodou foi o roteiro, que parece cada vez mais disposto a sacrificar lógica interna e coerência em nome de situações dramáticas ou visuais. Em vários momentos, Miles simplesmente consegue feitos que não são bem explicados dentro das regras estabelecidas, como desenvolver ou acessar habilidades novas de forma repentina, ou escapar de situações absurdas envolvendo centenas de Homens-Aranha sem que isso tenha uma construção convincente. Isso tira bastante o peso da tensão, porque as regras do universo deixam de parecer consistentes. Outro ponto que me soou estranho foi a forma como certas ideias são tratadas sem o mesmo cuidado narrativo. A presença de uma heroína grávida em meio a situações de ação constante é algo que, dependendo da leitura, acaba soando deslocado dentro do tom de perigo extremo que o filme tenta estabelecer. Não é necessariamente a ideia em si, mas como isso é inserido sem muito equilíbrio de impacto ou consequência real. O Peter Parker também acaba sendo um dos pontos mais fracos aqui. Em vez de funcionar como figura de referência ou contraponto interessante, ele aparece em vários momentos de forma quase caricata, sem a mesma força ou presença que versões anteriores do personagem tiveram. Isso enfraquece um pouco o papel dele dentro da narrativa. Além disso, o filme sofre bastante com a sensação de ser mais uma parte de algo maior do que uma história fechada. Isso, somado às conveniências do roteiro, faz com que várias situações pareçam existir mais para empurrar a trama adiante do que por necessidade orgânica. No fim, Across the Spider-Verse continua sendo um espetáculo visual e criativo, mas para mim é muito prejudicado por um roteiro irregular, cheio de decisões que enfraquecem a coerência e o impacto da história. Why are none of the new characters as fun or interesting as in the previous film? This felt like a waste of time compared to the first film. I don't like seeing a mindless army of Spider-Men. That doesn't represent the character at all to me. Each of the variants from the first entry had their own charm and their own struggles that made them feel like people, while this movie is filled with Fortnite skins and Funko Pops.

I wish it was half as good as the first Spiderman into the spider verse but the second one was just trash the only reason i gave it this high of a rating is because i still like the art style and colors plotwhise it is terrible and it shows that the writers don't know how multiverses work at all

It looks stylish and colorful to the point that it's just too much. This movie is definition of "style over substance". It's a chaotic colorful diarrhea with bs multiverse tropes and standard hollywood plot.
