This right here is how you do a video game movie and succeed, cause not only does this film have the heart, soul, and fun that you’d expect from sonic as a character and franchise but also a great overall narrative structure that does enough to make itself work as a film as well. This movie in my opinion is the perfect combination of good filmmaking and good video game adaptation so I give it a 8.5/10

It's a great movie, Shadow says "I love latinas" and everybody in the theater started clapping, like clapping their hands from the pure cinema they witnessed.

It’s decent. I enjoyed it, though i do think it was a bit too... different from the game "Sonic Adventure 2" which it was adapting. Childish. Pretty entertaining, though.

Pretty solid movie, didn't understand the critics who don't know how to have fun. If you played Sonic Adventure 2, you pretty much know the story. Jim Carrey and Keanu Reeves absolutely stole the movie with their phenomenal acting and bringing it to the table. Critics just gotta "live and learn".

Nota: 8/10

By this point you were worried that the first two movies were just pure flukes and that this franchise would go downhill but yet again Paramount proved me wrong every single time and it's amazing free back to back home runs setting away of bringing back good Hollywood movies which I never thought was possible in 2024. Especially as more and more movies were pushing extremism terrorism violence and hate this one movie said no we started out caring about the fans and we're still caring about the fans. And I cannot wait for the 4th movie. Thank you Paramount for listening to the fans and not the **** regime.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 feels like the franchise finally hitting its stride—fast, confident, and fully aware of what fans actually came for. Instead of playing it safe, this entry leans harder into the tone, the action, and the character dynamics that made the series click in the first **** biggest highlight is easily Shadow the Hedgehog. His presence adds real weight to the story, bringing a darker, more serious edge that balances Sonic’s usual humor and energy. The contrast works. It gives the movie a bit more bite without losing that fun, high-speed spirit. And yeah—when Shadow shows up, the whole vibe shifts in the best way.Sonic the Hedgehog himself feels more refined here. Still cocky, still quick with jokes, but there’s a stronger sense of growth. He’s not just reacting anymore—he’s stepping up. The dynamic with Tails and Knuckles continues to be a highlight, with that trio energy finally feeling fully realized. It’s less “team-up for the plot” and more “found family that actually works.”Visually, the film goes harder than before. The action sequences are faster, bigger, and more cinematic, with set pieces that actually feel like they’re pulling from the games—high-speed chases, explosive clashes, and just enough chaos to keep things exciting without turning into noise. It’s polished, but not **** humor still lands more often than it misses, and thankfully, it doesn’t undercut the emotional beats as much. There’s an effort to give the story some heart, especially with Shadow’s arc, and while it doesn’t go super deep, it’s enough to keep things **** it perfect? Not quite. Some pacing hiccups and familiar blockbuster beats hold it back from being truly great. But as a whole, it’s a strong, crowd-pleasing entry that shows real improvement and **** the end of the day, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 delivers what it needs to: speed, style, and just enough substance to keep it from being forgettable. It’s not just another sequel—it actually feels like the series leveling up.

Finally, they actually get a Sonic movie right, or just a video game movie in general. I saw this in theaters and it had a great plot and characters, along with a lot of good humor. Definitely the funniest in the franchise. Plus they added Shadow, who is like my favorite Sonic character.

My Review – Sonic the Hedgehog 3 – 10/10 I gave Sonic the Hedgehog 3 a 10 out of 10 because it takes everything great about the previous movies and turns it up even more. The action is bigger, the story is more intense, and the characters — especially Sonic and Shadow — are handled really well. The movie balances humor, emotion, and high-energy moments perfectly, and it feels like a true love letter to Sonic fans. The performances are strong, the visuals are impressive, and the tone hits that perfect mix of fun and serious. This is why Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is a 10/10.

Loved it. Sonic is still the lovable blue speedster he is, Shadow's character worked perfectly in the movie, and the scene where Sonic and Shadow are on the moon and both power up with the emeralds while "Live and Learn" plays in the background, absolute cinema.

Very entertaining, with lots of funny scenes. At the end, there's even some real drama, with a happy ending of course, since it's a children's film. The story makes sense; it wasn't just pulled out of thin air.

Entertaining but predictable sequel, it's a great entry for Sonic fans. Feels a bit stale though in its third entry, and for sure, I am not the target market for this flick.

I'm really enjoying the Sonic franchise. Super thankful that Jim Carrey came out of retirement for his magnificent role. Literally I went to the movies for him - this is a Jim Carrey film so to speak! I had a smile of my face and was a kid again watching the Carrey work. He is a one of a kind whom between him and all the 90s gaming references - I had a blast. Jim is easily able to play two roles all the while keeping the action flowing. My only con is the film went rather fast in the first half to get through all the build up - yet was satisfying during the climatic scenes and finale. Shadows story had me rooting for something that can never be. Can't wait for more movies and bring on Jim!

Sonic 3 is a solid blockbuster that does exactly what it’s supposed to: deliver an action-packed film that elevates the franchise without dragging, pleases fans, and adds just the right touch of humor, courtesy of Jim Carrey. While Shadow steals the show throughout the movie, we can’t help but wish it had taken just a few more risks to truly transcend expectations and avoid staying too grounded.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Revenge. The film "Sonic the Hedgehog 3" pleases fans with a bright and dynamic plot, rich humor and exciting scenes. In the third part of the series, the heroes face new challenges, and their friendship becomes even stronger. The animation still impresses with its detail and liveliness, and the voice actors perfectly convey the characters' personalities. Particularly pleasing is the development of storylines and the introduction of new characters, which adds freshness to the film. The direction keeps the viewer in suspense until the last minute, and the musical accompaniment creates an atmosphere of adventure. "Sonic 3" is an excellent choice for the whole family, combining nostalgia and modern cinema.

It has been said that the closer one is to the lore of any given reprisal, the more likely that individual will relish the consistencies and loath the detractions. With “Sonic 3” finally delving into the established lore from the franchise, it was inevitable that a lifelong fan of the series as I would be subjected to one of the reactions, and it was regrettably the latter. Its alterations to the story of (Sonic Adventure 2) notwithstanding, the film additionally fell from the reputation of its predecessors in terms of its ability to balance tonal consistency (something even the second installment was serviceable in). If not for a choice selection of genuinely good scenes, which were few and far between, this travesty of a “reimagination” would have scored even lower in my **** where did it all go wrong? Chiefly among the issues is the severe tonal whiplash that occurs with almost every change of scene, as attempting to blend an exceedingly serious narrative with juvenile punchlines and silly-for-the-sake-of-silly antics is a recipe for disaster. Make no mistake, the first two movies managed to make this vein of humor work, largely due to them being their own tales set in a universe as of yet attached to the flagship medium (that being the video games). However, in attempting to please “all audiences” by taking a mature story and plastering extremely adolescent graffiti all over it, it ultimately caters to only the blissfully-uninformed that are vaguely knowledgeable about “this thing is popular because…it’s popular”, who additionally find themselves unburdened by the care or want for any semblance of narrative cohesion. When observing the movie as a whole, it is almost as if the writers had a list of highlighted jokes they wanted to include set alongside another list of bulletpoints from the original game that was thought important enough to push into the plot, and they couldn’t reconcile sacrificing one or the other…so they gave us both…bookended back-to-back…nonstop. No moment of severity is ever given time to breathe, and no opportunity of character development is ever prioritized over making that same incident the victim of having to precede a tacky one-liner.Subsequently, another detriment this brings to the table is the self-sabotage of character potential, especially when contrasted with the original material. What makes matters worse is that this in turn opens up large holes of inconsistency between what is (assumably) expected on the part of the writer and what is actually experienced. For example, G.U.N. is (expected) to be taken seriously in several portions of the film, though this perception falls to the wayside every time they are shown to be pointlessly incompetent and made the butt of an umpteenth joke because…wouldn’t it be funny if they only had a handful of guards to defend an entire high-stakes facility? And unfortunately for fans of the source material, it gets much worse; because when it comes to the loss in character potential/quality, no one suffered more than Gerald Robotnik. In the original story, he was kept largely in the background for the majority of the plot; only coming to the forefront when the ploys of his deception reached fruition. There are no quips, no tottering-old-man antics: only pure anger and bitterness wrapped in a perspective package of tragedy. In contrast, within the movie, he is still alive and kicking seemingly only so a plethora of geriatric jests can be made, and so he can be made out to be an evil mastermind that only gets his way due to the logical shortcomings the script forces on those around him. Rather than having his portrayal as close to the original as possible, which would have certainly reaped the most benefits for both his character and the overall story as a whole, it seemed like they deliberately included him (rather than “insert new old guy here”) so that they could run with the selling point of “look, Jim Carrey gets to yuck it up as TWO Robotnik’s this time! Won’t that be fun?”. In conclusion, while there were a few moments of solid action and story beats, “Sonic 3” was unfortunately designed to be a checkbox movie in every definition of the concept. If you turn your brain off, set aside any expectation of logical consistency, and disregard every facet of the original story from which the film appropriated and butchered, there is a possibility that you will enjoy this entry. However, if you saw this film as an enthusiast of the game and wondered where Rouge and Amy disappeared to, why Gerald and G.U.N. were turned into giggle-coated piñatas, and lamented the complete removal of the Space Colony Ark and Biolizard, you are not alone. It is a regrettable outcome since the landing was largely stuck concerning Shadow’s (and to an extent, Maria’s) portrayal; but such was the risk in forcing needless changes on an existing story while blatantly ignoring what made it so beloved to begin with.

Sonic 3 feels like one of those social media posts that skips every third word, and your mind fills in the blank, so sentence makes sense, but when the gaps are pointed out, you realize it’s pure gibberish. That is to say, everything makes sense without much thought, but the moment you start to apply any sort of logic, you realize how many problems there are. Characters know things they shouldn’t, they do things that make no sense, skits go on far too long (or shouldn’t exist at all), there’s no tonal consistency, and the writers trimmed important pieces of the plot from Sonic Adventure 2, rendering this adaptation illogical at best, idiotic at worst. I wish this site allowed more of a word count to truly dive deep into the issues…

Sonic 3 isn't a perfect movie by any means. But it does what its here to do - entertain. Keanu Reeves is a brilliant casting choice as Shadow the Hedgehog along with the returning Jim Carrey pulling double duty. This is as close to 1990s Jim Carrey as we have been since 1990s Jim Carrey!

When a video game adaptation is actually good, that’s already a miracle. But when the third installment of a saga ends up being better than the first two — now that’s unexpected. I thought the series would start running out of steam, but not at all.Shadow’s backstory from Sonic Adventure 2 is faithfully respected, the film is funny, well-paced, and Jim Carrey is clearly still having a blast (and it only took three movies for him to finally look like the Robotnik from the games).Fingers crossed for the next one, because both (!) post-credits scenes tease some serious stuff.

The visuals of this movie are vibrant and capture the attention of the viewers. This with the combination of amazing actors and voice actors such as Jim Carrey as Dr.Robotnik and Keanu Reeves as Shadow keeps the viewers entertained and guessing about what the plot of the movie is and makes us ask who truly is the villain in this story?

Theres a spoilerfree and spoiler part, sorry if its a bit low quality i usally dont write movie reviews this is my first one. No Spoilers:Amazing movie.Peak graphics, peak acting(espaicially jim carry he „carried” the movie alot),peak audio, some funny jokes but not to many, perfect balance between sonic characters and humans, and a amazing epic ending, still not a perfect movie **** main complaint is that the pacing is very rushed especially at the start you feel like ur scrolling through a billion tiktoks but it does get a bit slower **** shadow also didnt get enough screen time considering hes the nee highlight character but he still had alot of great scenes.Shadows backstory also wasnt as touching as i wished, but there was other stuff that touched me.SPOILERS,SPOILERS,SPOILERS:I really like Eggmans goodbye scene it was acted so inceedibly well.i loved the live and learn scene at the end but it could have appeared for a bit **** super stuff is overall really good.I feel like the eggman team up being thrown away so quickly was wasted **** the movie should be a bit longer to allow more shadow backstory and a less rushed plot.

Liked it a lot less than the other Sonic films, Jim Carrey was the only highlight of this film, double the fun !!! Shadow could have been made better, Knuckles was a more funny film/show, I know Shadow is the dark sad one, but it didn't make for an interesting character. I feel like a lot of scenes or things were missing that were showcased a lot in the other films like the home dynamic with Donut Lord.

A lot better than the second film. Shadow was a great introduction to the series. My biggest gripe is that there's no character development for anyone outside of Shadow. Knuckles and Tails feel like unnecessary additions. Sonic is just your typical save the day hero. It left me wanting a lot more out of it.

In my opinion, Jeff Fowler is one of the best directors in the world. There's no doubt about it. I like all three parts. But I think the third part should have been directed better in some places and some things should have been dealt with more and better, like Maria and Shadow relationship. Maybe it should have been a little longer, for example, minute 124 should have been a little longer to show Shadow anger and power more. Maybe it was cut. I hope there's a director's cut so I can be happier. This movie is so great that when I see that there are some problems in the movie, I say to myself, I wish they didn't exist so that it could have become a true masterpiece.
