Totally worth the watch if you're into a bit of slow-burn feel-good with some frustrating segways. I do wish they had developed the Tova-Marcellus relationship a bit more at the beginning, as it seems that moments are skipped. Sally Field is at the top of her game, and Lewis Pullman embodies Cameron, bringing the character to life.

Remarkably Bright Creatures is one of those films that does not need to make too much noise to work. It has a simple, gentle story, sad underneath, but told with a softness that makes it very pleasant to watch. It is not a film that wants to break you apart or leave you devastated, even though it deals with loss, loneliness and old wounds. Instead, it tries to accompany you, to carry you slowly, and to leave you with a clean kind of **** best thing about it is its tone. The film knows how to move between tenderness and melancholy without almost ever becoming a heavy drama. There are predictable moments, yes, and some areas that feel too comfortable, but there is also a warmth that makes up for many of those weaknesses. It is a sentimental film, but not completely sugary; it wants to move you, but it does not always force the tear.Sally Field holds that balance very well. Her presence gives truth to a story that could easily have become a pretty but forgettable TV movie. Beside her, Lewis Pullman brings fragility and humanity, and the relationship between the characters works best when the film stops underlining it too much. There are moments when you can feel the emotional structure too clearly, as if the film were placing every feeling exactly where it belongs. Even so, it works, because its emotions are well placed and because it is never unpleasant or **** is a beautiful, tender and sad film, the kind that is very easy to watch on a quiet afternoon. It is not a great work, nor does it try to be, but it has heart, good performances and a luminous melancholy that gradually wins you over. It may be soft, it may be somewhat predictable, but it also leaves a warm feeling behind. And sometimes that is enough.

I’m not familiar with the book on which it’s based. The story of two damaged characters who form an emotional bond thanks to an aquarium octopus isn’t exactly groundbreaking, but it’s enough to kill 110 minutes with minimal discomfort.

Carried along by Sally Field, this adaptation of the book of the same name vastly simplifies the character arcs. The book’s use of three viewpoints would have been hard to put into film, but the stripped down plot in the film significantly reduces Cameron’s role. Overall, the acting isn’t Oscar worthy, but Field and Colm Meany bring their best game to the script. Pleasant to watch, but lacking the complexities of the book. A decent adaptation nonetheless.

If you want action and spectacle, move on. This isn't for you. But if you are sick of Homelander's brutality, or just violence, sit down and just give this movie a chance. Yes, it's unsubtle in how it reaches for your emotions, but it does it with a charm that's built on very, very good actors, an honesty about aging, and the scars many of us carry. I'm so glad that Sally Field gets to act in a film like this because everyone deserves a chance to shine later in life. All the characters show emotional bravery, and vulnerability. We don't all manage that in life, but it's incredibly charming to see characters who do, and reap the rewards that can come from it... even if they have 8 arms. Cynics people will gag, but the rest of us will feel. That's nice.

One of the best Netflix releases in a long time. After some recent disappointments, this felt like a completely fresh concept. The story follows a woman who finds a new reason to live through an unlikely bond with a "remarkable animal"—a giant octopus. It’s a beautiful drama that teaches you about the importance of family and how life can still surprise you even when you think it’s over. The connection between the characters is heartwarming and the ending provides a great sense of closure. Highly recommended if you want a meaningful story that stays with you.

I honestly did not expect a film to affect me this much. Remarkably Bright Creatures is without question the best movie I’ve seen this year. It made me smile, cry, tense up, jump, and then cry all over again. I cannot remember the last time a film took me through this many emotions in such a genuine way. What makes this movie so special is that it never feels manipulative. The emotional moments feel earned, the humour feels natural, and the mystery keeps you completely invested throughout. There’s warmth, sadness, suspense, hope, and real humanity in every part of it. Sally Field delivers one of the best performances I’ve seen in years. She brings so much heart, vulnerability, strength, and authenticity to the role that you completely forget you are watching an actress. This deserves serious awards recognition, and I truly hope she gets an Oscar nomination because she absolutely earned **** entire film stayed with me long after it ended, which is something very few movies manage to do anymore. In a time where so many films feel emotionally empty or overly manufactured, this felt real. An unforgettable experience and a reminder of why cinema matters.

Very charming movie. The perfect antidote to a lot of dark (but good) shows we've been watching lately. Made my wife cry at parts, and I had a smile on my face. What more can you ask for? :)

Sally Field creates another charming character, as a lonely woman who cleans at the local aquarium at night. Her “friend” is the local octopus (voiced with a mellow Afredi Molina), where she confides her personal thoughts. Along comes a young man looking for meaning (the ever-charming laid-back Lewis Pulliam) and their relationship adds another element to this little drama. Of course, the octopus is all CGI, but cool. There are hokey elements, but the film’s earnest base makes this unlikely bond sweeter, thanks to Field’s slightly-quirky creation and Pullman’s easy appeal. BTW, the title gets a new meaning with the last line.

I didn`t read the book so i don`t have anything to compared but i liked almost all the characters specially the octopus.

One of those hard to watch, stay at the surface productions. Distinctly Mid. Promising message that get washed away with microwave acting. Watch ten minutes with the sound off / muted. You'll understand. Synthetic when you're hoping for the genuine article. The book and script are both better consumer experiences. Imagine what an artist like Spielberg could have done with subject matter like this...
