Favreau, who wrote "Swingers," has now directed and written the hilarious Made, which re-teams him with Vaughn. The two play off each other so well that they recall fond memories of Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau.

Little more than a rambling chain of combative buddy mishaps, but the interplay between Vaughn and Favreau, who does great double takes of thrusting chin frustration, spins you through the weak patches.

Look here is the deal. The movie plot itself is kinda whacky, but I have NEVER EVER, laughed so hard in my life. Just some of the parts of this movie still have me laughing months later. My all time favorite part of any movie is in this movie. The part when vince vaughn gets to the hotel and he is going back and forth with the bell hop. There is not a funnier part IMO in any movie. frogs aren't purple by the way...

While the movie starts out promising and you want to find out what will happen next, eventually it becomes quite irritating and the plot is quite bad towards the end, not having any substance to it really. Also Vince Vaughn basically does the same thing as he does in many similar movies - just irritate other people and talks a lot. Ok, John Favreau is the main lead and he is actually playing his role quite good, but the movie, while it isn't like it wouldn't make that much sense or anything, it doesn't have any thought behind etc, plus the jokes aren't that good in my opinion. I mean they are ok but nothing that impressive, plus at some points you wonder is it a comedy or what.

There are laughs -- lots of them, too -- but at some point the source of the laughs -- Vaughan's Ricky, a yammering loose cannon -- goes from entertaining to obnoxious.

Fitfully amusing and two leads generate engaging chemistry.

Amusing Made doesn't quite measure up to expectations.

The film's a trifle, but a beautifully crafted one.

Totally in the distance is the memory of "Swingers," whose hipster goof has been replaced by a stupid goof. This may be what is meant by the “dumbing down of America.”

I’m genuinely surprised this film has such a high user rating on MetaCritic. While Made starts off with some promise, making you curious about what might happen next, it quickly becomes irritating as the plot loses steam and lacks any real substance by the end. Vince Vaughn essentially repeats his usual shtick from other movies, irritating everyone around him with a lot of incessant talking for basically the entire film, it was super annoying. I was waiting for Jon Favreau to simply tell Vince to shut up in about 4 scenes, the movie itself feels poorly thought out. It’s not that it doesn’t make sense, but there isn’t much depth or direction. The humor is just mediocre at best; but completely forgettable, leaving you wondering if it’s even trying to be a comedy. This movie ****.
