Just Like Heaven

Just Like Heaven isn't far short of a classic among romantic comedies with a teary chaser, sure to please fans of "Ghost" and "Heaven Can Wait."

That Just Like Heaven succeeds at all - at least for teenage girls with limited interest in the drafting of living wills - is due entirely to Witherspoon's can-do charisma.

A sweet but predictable chick flick, this coasts by on the considerable charm of its two leads.

The leads are just too good to commit fully to something this baldly formulaic. It's sad.

Witherspoon's oft charming perkiness is merely patronizing here, but mid-'90s MTV staple Donal Logue steals every scene he's in as an ethically challenged therapist.

A huge waste of talent (Witherspoon's) and time (ours), a supernatural romantic comedy that is neither romantic, comedic, super or natural.

Sounds promising. What a disappointment then to report that Just Like Heaven is more like purgatory, a sweating, straining attempt to marry the wisecracking fury of the modern sitcom to the classic Rock-Doris, Cary-Kate romantic comedy.

Esse é um antigo e divertido filme dos anos 2000 estrelado por Reese Witherspoon e Mark Ruffalo. Viajando por um espiritismo selecionando, que aparece apenas para David a tal de Elizabeth, que não sabia que estava em coma, entre comédia e drama a ótima ideia do filme dá uma lição: será que estamos mais trabalhando do que vivendo? Claramente Elizabeth trabalhava como médica e fica até sem dormir para conseguir um cargo 'melhor' e no fim vê sua vida se acabando em um coma. Com a ajuda de David ela tenta voltar seu corpo em uma cena cômica, com muitas tentativas, finalmente ela volta a vida com ajuda de David porém acaba o esquecendo ao acordar. Por um lado ti faz rir e do outro ti faz pensar que a vida tem e deve ser uma festa!

The film tells the story of an architect who falls in love with a woman who lives in his apartment and who is actually a ghost The film “And if it were true” has some imperfections, but it has the merit of offering us a show which transports us to an unreal world and which allows us to escape from our daily lives. Marc Levy's book is also very appreciated for the way it translates situations and feelings (in the book her name is Lauren, and Arthur if I remember correctly). I liked this film because the images gave another relief to an improbable story, just like a fairy tale which took us on a journey into an imaginary world and which made us sometimes say: “What if it were true. ..”.

Nodding to classics such as Ghost and Heaven Can Wait, Just Like Heaven is another formidable entry into romantic-comedies venturing beyond life and love.
