This is as middle-of-the-road as it gets, something no one will remember minutes after it wraps and, for this reason, will likely prompt very few to express anything overwhelmingly negative or the opposite.

Those who fell victim to the over-the-top animosity directed at Amber Heard during the Johnny Depp trial – as chronicled in the docuseries “Depp v. Heard” – will alas have fresh ammunition thanks to “In the Fire,” a pretty awful starring vehicle for the actor that she also produced, a film unlikely to produce many sparks beyond those set off by the morbidly curious.

Amber heard shines in this supernatural thriller. I love that she has fully embraced the horror genre. What a staple!

Great movie. It went places I did not expect and explored nuances in those unexpected channels.

Anyone that ignores the intense review-bombing (aided by some so-called "critics") that this mystery thriller has endured ever since its release and decides to watch it will, I believe, agree that it is as entertaining as it is thought-provoking. Indeed, the film explores personal, social, religious, and political issues via a gripping suspense-filled narrative that is wonderfully backed up by beautiful and thematic visuals as well as outstanding performances, makeup, and costumes. With respect to performances, Amber Heard (as Grace Burnham) does an outstanding job balancing the doctor-mother relationship that Grace has with Martin (Lorenzo McGovern Zaini) while also successfully managing to authentically portray the emotional and mental burdens and conflicts that Grace experiences throughout the movie owing to a clash between her own beliefs and those of the villagers. Lorenzo Zaini, Eduardo Noriega and Luca Calvani are also perfect in their respective roles. In short, I' advice that you skip all the transparently disingenuous negative reviews of this movie (that have nothing to do with its cinematic value and everything to do with attacking Amber Heard) and just watch it for yourself. If you're someone that appreciates a good indie movie that both entertains you and makes you think, I am confident that you will love this one.

Despite the controversy surrounding Amber Heard, her performance in In the Fire is undeniably compelling. Many viewers may have been inclined to give the film a low rating due to her involvement, but her portrayal of Dr. Grace Burnham is a standout. Her character's courage and dedication in the face of a hostile community and a troubled boy are both admirable and **** film itself is a slow-burn psychological thriller that builds a sense of unease and tension throughout. The setting is visually stunning, and the supporting cast delivers strong performances. While it may not be as overtly scary as some horror films, the underlying sense of dread and the disturbing nature of the events make it a truly unsettling **** only critique is that the ending feels a bit abrupt. I would have liked to see more exploration of Dr. Burnham's past and future, as well as a more satisfying conclusion. However, overall, In the Fire is a well-crafted and thought-provoking film that is definitely worth watching.

Terribly written, poor dialogue, bizarre pacing, acting is either wooden or camp and overly embellished. Waste of time. Just unengaging.

If you’re wondering how low cinema can sink in the name of drama, In the Fire is your answer. This film isn’t just bad — it’s offensively dull, unintentionally hilarious, and dramatically lifeless. It’s the cinematic equivalent of watching wet wood fail to catch fire.Amber Heard, in yet another demonstration of her one-note acting range, delivers a performance so wooden it could be mistaken for a prop. Every line she utters lands with the emotional depth of a voicemail from a disinterested ex. She stares into the middle distance like she’s waiting for better roles to appear — spoiler: they **** plot? A mess. It tries to be a supernatural thriller, but ends up being a confused, directionless slog filled with melodramatic nonsense and dialogue that sounds like it was ripped from a failed high school screenplay. Tension? Nonexistent. Stakes? Who cares. Characters? Barely **** direction is uninspired, the cinematography is flat, and the pacing is slower than a dial-up modem. Watching In the Fire feels less like entertainment and more like a punishment for forgetting to read the terms and conditions of **** the end, you're left with one burning question: Who greenlit this, and how do we make sure they never touch a camera again?Verdict: 0.5/10 — The only thing in flames here is the future of everyone involved.
