Think "Catch Me If You Can" mashed up with "Brokeback Mountain" if Mel Brooks directed and you'll get the idea.

It is Carrey, turning his patented rubber-faced, rubber-voiced shtick loose on a role with heart, substance and entertainment value, who makes this romantic farce a movie too good to sit on any studio's shelf.

The rhythmic machinery of a high-stakes obsession: A 5.0-star sensational surge of rebellious love.2011(5.0)I watched "I Love You Phillip Morris" in 2011, and it delivered a visceral revelation that stands as a definitive 5.0-star pillar of chewy intellectual brilliance in my archive. This experience **** the fourth wall of the stagnant romantic comedy by infusing Jim Carrey’s raw and unhinged performance with a high-tension energy that felt 100% sophisticated and authentic. The narrative rhythm was far from stagnant; instead, it offered a rhythmic journey through the pathetic constraints of the legal system and the raw human distrust of a con artist, leaving me in a state of absolute hororong as Steven Russell’s vivid lies spiraled into a sensational manifesto of devotion. Seeing the vivid absurdity of his multiple prison breaks provided an emotional payoff that felt both raw and hauntingly clever, proving that a true story could be a vivid act of storytelling rebellion against stagnant societal norms. The 95% preservation of my memory is dominated by the rhythmic, raw brilliance of Carrey’s manic charm and the vivid but pathetic irony of a man who could escape anything except his own heart, creating a permanent, sensational scar of psychological awe on my soul. Unlike the stagnant 3.0-star drift of "Fun with **** and Jane" or the pathetic execution of "Nacho Libre," this encounter possessed a rebellious soul that turned a pathetic criminal record into a sensational masterpiece of identity. It stands in my 2011 record as a powerful 5.0-star testament to the raw power of a brilliant mind—a high-tension encounter with the vivid rhythm of deceit and desire that remains one of the most chewy artifacts of my cinematic journey.

"I Love You Phillip Morris" is a great, fun and inspirational movie. Please bring me more movies like these! The plot is smart, the acting is great and the humanity is real. Why is only 5% of what Hollywood produces considered art? This movie is a celebration. Yes, Yes and Yes.

"Liar Liar" meets Obi-Wan? Who'da thunk even fearless star power could make these two work as a romantic pair? But both stars prove to be enormous fun in a gay love story played straight in a thoroughly crooked context.

If you're a fan of provocative, offbeat films such as "My Own Private Idaho" or "The Crying Game," you might want to give "Phillip Morris" a chance.

At best, I Love You Phillip Morris may be hailed as a necessary step in Hollywood's fearful crawl toward sexual evenhandedness; the film upholds the constitutional right of every gay man to be as much of a liar, a crook, and a creep as the rest of us. Makes you proud.

It's clear from first frame to last that the filmmakers decided to go broad, very broad, with a story that swings between hysterical, hyper-sexual, bizarre, surprisingly tender and just plain awful. This is one mixed bag of a movie.

I Love You Phillip Morris not only blasts gay stereotypes back decades, it could actually make people wish for a third "Ace Ventura" movie. Both of those are an accomplishment, though neither is a compliment.

A solid enough comedy about a conman on the lam. Led by one of Carrey's finest performances, and not a bad turn by McGregor as well.

Something about this movie rubbed me the wrong way. First, I thought it was black comedy and/or farce that didn't work for me. But, much more so, it was the inauthenticity of the main character that gave me a strong negative visceral reaction. Yet, although I was uncomfortable while watching, I was never bored. And I did find myself thinking about the film afterward.

I've seen a lot of movies about relationships between two males, and I have to say this is the worst. It was so unrealistic, and so offensive as well. It portrays stereotypes that have basically just become assumptions about homosexuals. If you want to watch a good movie about a gay male relationship, go for Brokeback Mountain. It is much more emotional, and much more tolerable as a whole, and it's a whole heck of a lot less offensive. Watching this movie, I have a harder time believing Jim Carrey was a gay man than I did believing he was God, The Grinch, or The Mask. Even Ewan McGregor, who I loved in Moulin Rouge and Trainspotting, was a blatant stereotype. If you ever wonder why homophobes think gays like to talk about the fact that they're gay all the time, they are promiscuous, as well as dirty liars, those homophobes are probably watching movies like this. It was also the least authentic romance movie I've ever seen. This was a less believable couple than Harold and Maude. This is in strong contention for the worst movie I've ever seen.
