It's the most artistically stunning bad movie i've ever watched, i'm a fan of The Weeknd's music, but honestly, he needs to stop trying to star in films, Hurry Up Tomorrow is a massive waste of an otherwise striking cinematic experience, i genuinely admire Trey Edward Shults filmmaking style, and to be clear, there's nothing wrong with the direction itself, the film looks incredible. What's wrong, however, is the plot, the plot simply confuse, not because it's hard to follow, it's actually quite simple, but because it feels completely pointless, the story doesn't seem to know why it's being told, you keep watching, waiting for some meaning or payoff, and it never really arrives, what's the point of all this? Then there's the performances, Abel "The Weeknd" Tesfaye delivers one of the most unintentionally funny bad performances i've seen, he simply cannot act, what makes it worst is he was the leading star of this film, at least try to look good for once, even that's missing, Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan can't save the film either, their performances aren't great, though to be fair, they're at least serviceable and decent, even if they had been excellent, it wouldn't have been enough to fix what's fundamentally broken here. The film feels almost completely soulless, it's also almost becoming one of those so bad it's good movie, almost, unfortunately there is just still more purely and boringly bad stuff, in the end, it's frustrating knowing that they basically waste an actually great director, to input all of his amazing filmmaking style into this horrendous content, Hurry Up Tomorrow is easily one of the worst films of the year.

Barry Keoghan completamente esquecido no churrasco, fazendo figuração pro astro macho perdido, que encontra uma Ortega irritante pelo caminho. A ambientação é boa e curti toda a iluminação precária, que realmente passa o ar de um artista se afundando, além do texto ter seus momentos, principalmente no início. O problema é que os núcleos começam dispersos, e quando se encontra... bem, a falta de química é notória, forçar um romance e depois uma pegada mais visceral, tornou o longa com um punhado de cenas constrangedoras, com uma cena de tortura que faz rir. O filme é estranho mesmo.

If it wasn't for some cool shots and the soundtrack this would be a 0. Abel needs to give up acting and stick to making banging albums. This really isn't it!

Hurry up tomorrow - is a visual and audio masterpiece that fascinates with style, but disappoints with content. The film amazes with its aesthetics: each scene is like a living picture, and the music (especially The Weeknd tracks) creates a hypnotic atmosphere. The acting and horror elements add a dark charm, but the weak plot and the lack of a clear denouement leave a feeling of **** you appreciate the beauty of the frame and the powerful soundtrack, this film is for you. But those who are waiting for depth and logic may be a little bored. 7/10

The Weeknd hasn't learned, and now he's delivering an exercise in self-indulgence simply to promote his new album. 'Hurry Up Tomorrow' is like a long music video concerned only with superficiality and getting "cool" or "edgy" shots. A trite story about the price of fame and the toxic world of show business; the 'Misery' and 'American Psycho'-esque ending is simply ridiculous. Tesfaye clearly can't act or write for film.

I give a 10/10. It showed a side of the weeknd that we have never seen before and showed how even with all the fame and money, the weeknd has his own struggles (mentally). Some artists never share the struggles they go through and the fact that the weeknd did. Makes me appreciate him more as an artist. This movie is definitely not going to be understood by everyone and that’s okay. This movie was a love letter to his fans. Loved it, give it 10/10.

A stunning visual masterpiece with equally impressive mind twisting story. This movie was emotionally gripping and sometimes confusing, but the best movies don’t always make sense, nor do they have to. I’m going to watch it several more times and I highly suggest watching it.

The most insufferable hour and 40 minutes I have ever spent in a theatre. A boring, nonsensical, horribly acted and self indulgent sequence of unbearably awful scenes. Do yourself a favor and do not give the weekend and his gigantic ego your money.

A cinematic experience that may resonate with a select audience. Personally, I hold a strong appreciation for Abel’s artistic endeavours and embarked on this viewing experience with friends who are casual listeners to his music. We entered the cinema with no preconceived notions about what to anticipate. Our immediate consensus was that Abel’s acting prowess was evident, surpassing his performance in “Idol.” His ability to convey raw and distinct emotions, both verbally and non-verbally, was truly remarkable. While the film felt somewhat curt, leaving us with lingering questions, we began to formulate theories based on the abundant symbolism employed. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised that not only I derived enjoyment from the film, but my friends and I were astounded by the negative reviews it received..

This was an absolutely excellent thriller about running away from yourself and the anxieties of being alone. I was extremely excited for this film since the album Hurry Up Tomorrow is easily my favorite album of the year, and seeing the film that the album came from was an absolutely fantastic experience. They integrated the music spectacularly, each track from the album felt tailor made for a specific scene from the film, especially the title track. But the thing about this movie that really stuck out to me was how amazing the direction is. Trey Edward Shultz is absolutely spectacular behind the camera, there were so many shots that literally took my breath away, and it added to the uneasy tone of the film incredibly well. The film also poses a lot of fascinating questions about what we put into art we create, how it can take so much out of us and how nobody who experiences the art we create will never know how personal it is. Jenna Ortega also delivers a fantastic performance, riding the lime between insane and charming incredibly well. I don't even really have any complaints about the film other than maybe there were some pretty serious lapses in logic in the third act, but everything surrounding said plot holes were was so goddamn good it's extremely forgivable. I can see this being an extremely divisive film, with a lot of people most likely going to call it self indulgent and tonally confused, but I couldn't disagree more! I found all the elements involving just Abel singing and talking about his music to be extremely effective in building the tone and establishing his character. In fact, my favorite scene in the whole film is what will probably be the most divisive, and it involves a character dancing to The Weeknd's music and then the character does a deep dive about the themes of the songs and connected it really well to the dark themes of loneliness and ignoring your feelings. This film is exactly what I wanted it to be, and outside of a couple elements in the third act not completely landing, I **** loved everything about it and I think fans of The Weeknd will be very pleased with it. Especially since it really does feel like the perfect sendoff to this most recent era of his music.

Such a innovative way of putting out new music. Instead of that same old formula (Video+album+Tour), The Weeknd went on tour with new music, released the album and in order to make it a more interactive plot he released an entire movie. It’ll be memorable, I’m sure. And other artists will soon do the same. A real video album. It’s a real musical. And it tells you what’s going on the album track by track

The Weeknd’s insanely huge ego resulted in an incredibly self-righteous commercial disguised as a movie, and I had the misfortune of witnessing it.

This is the worst film of 2025, everything from acting, script, directing, cinematography the whole lot is trash. The weeknd cannot act but alleged actress Jenna Ortega is worse, it really seems like she is a one trick (that face she does) pony. Do not watch this.

The title Hurry Up Tomorrow is incredibly appropriate—because the entire time I was watching it, I just wanted it to hurry up and end. Calling this a “film” is generous; surviving it felt more like a cinematic endurance **** plot is laughably shallow, padded with so much pointless fluff that the pacing is downright painful. Abel Tesfaye, a.k.a. The Weeknd, essentially plays himself—and not well. His acting is so stiff, it’s almost impressive. Sharing scenes with Jenna Ortega only makes it worse; she effortlessly outshines him at every turn, making his performance look like a high school drama **** make matters worse, the whole movie is drenched in ego. There’s a scene—I'm not making this up—where Jenna’s character actually analyzes the deep themes of his music. It tries to present itself as some kind of profound artistic statement, but really, it's just a 100-minute commercial for his new album.Abel, please—stick to your day job.

The film has its moments of eye-catching visuals and enticing drama, but when any of the attributes that actually have the potential redeem the movie all sit on a basis of unbearable pretentiousness without any semblance of cohesion or a story, the movie becomes a self-inflicted mess rife with overt victimization and contrived emotions.
