The best, surely the smartest, English-language movie of the year to date.

Wright and Pegg are storytellers who weave their naughty bits into genuine characters and a plot. It's a ridiculous plot, but one that's absolutely in the spirit of the films they're satirizing.

The rhythmic machinery of a village conspiracy: A 5.0-star "sensational" surge of directorial precision.2011(5.0)I watched "Hot Fuzz" in 2011, and it delivered a visceral "revelation" that stands as a definitive 5.0-star pillar of rhythmic perfection in my archive. This experience **** the fourth wall of the "stagnant" buddy-cop genre by infusing Edgar Wright’s "vivid" visual shorthand and high-tension editing with a rebellious energy that felt 100% "raw" and "chewy." The narrative rhythm was far from "stagnant"; instead, it offered a sophisticated journey through the "pathetic" tranquility of Sandford and the "raw" human distrust underlying its perfect exterior, leaving me in a state of absolute "hororong" as the mystery unraveled with high-tension precision. Seeing the "vivid" synchronization of the action sequences and the "raw" chemistry between Simon Pegg and Nick Frost provided an emotional payoff that felt both "sensational" and intellectually rewarding, proving that satire could be a "vivid" act of storytelling rebellion. The 95% preservation of my memory is dominated by the rhythmic, "raw" sound of the rapid-fire cuts and the "vivid" but "pathetic" obsession of the NWA, creating a permanent, "sensational" scar of cinematic brilliance on my soul. Unlike the "stagnant" 3.0-star drift of "Dachimawa Lee" or the "pathetic" execution of "Sisily 2km," this encounter possessed a "vivid" and rebellious soul that turned a "pathetic" village into a "sensational" battlefield of "raw" wit. It stands in my 2011 record as a powerful 5.0-star testament to the "raw" power of visual comedy—a high-tension encounter with the "vivid" rhythm of British subversion that remains one of the most intellectually "chewy" artifacts of my cinematic journey.

Favourite film of all time hands down. Intriguing plot and clever foreshadowing

Hot Fuzz is something all too rare in movie comedies: a story rather than a string of disjointed skits, with hearty characters behind its caricatures.

Since Mr. Wright and Mr. Pegg are essentially parodying self-parodies, they have also smartly kinked up their conceit by setting most of the film in a sleepy village that might as well be called Ye Old English Towne, thereby wedding one of the most irritating British exports to one of the most absurd American ones. Think of it as "The Full Monty" blown to smithereens.

It's to the "Lethal Weapon" movies what left-hand driving on a country lane is to a freeway chase: pokey, more than a little daft, but with a bloody surprise around every hedge.
75
A little too long and suffers from a sagging midsection when the level of exposition becomes laborious, but the spectacularly entertaining final 30 minutes compensates for a lot of flaws.
60
All the action is staged with energy, but it gets relentless without anything really funny going on.

The movie starts really good and promising, with nice jokes and editing here and there, the problem is when the 2nd act kicks in, the passing is kind of slow even tho' the editing (Wright's style) is so dynamic and fast, the plot is revealed way to ahead of its time and basically you're waiting for Simon Pegg to reveal it, I know this is sort of parody but then again that doesn't excuse this film to be this boring. It's not that I hate it, but it shows how Edgar Wright evolved as a filmmaker and how his brilliance would be polished in future movies.

This is a quite good film.(non spolierific analysis) the film has a lot of pros about it: The characters and the psychology of the characters are pretty understandable and realistic The comedy and humor in this film is actually pretty funny and quite cheeky however the film caters to an audience that doesn't mind some "cheeky humor".
The comedy is also spliced with the action well and is executed at the right time and is moderate and humorous instead of excessive and forced. the realism of police work in this film is quite accurate as well From a cinematography and film studies perspective, this film is quite intriguing to analyse. The shots it uses is quite sophisticated, implying, symbolic and **** also fits well in the scenes context and makes sense. For example, one close up shot of the main protagonist on his phone on the train implies that he is away from society or another shot medium shot where there is a woman who was murdered anbd her body is in the shot whilst the police are confused what to do , implies the idiocy and stupidity that some police have when danger is in their faces and they are confused about it.
if you are a film student i would recommend seeing this film. the film also briefly satirizes police riddled with corruption or police that feel intimidated by the skilled superiors. However this ridicule is unfortunately concise and not explored more but however i assume that that was not the intention of the film. the con's of this film are: The action in this film feels somewhat cliched but somewhat enjoyable. the soundtrack could have been improved as some of the songs were good and some of the songs felt dull and repetitive. overall the film was quite good but needed one or two improvements I recommend watching this film if you are into Edgar Wrights work or if you like cheeky comedy

*sigh* the amount of terrible 'humour' in this joke of film is insane. once more, Simon Pegg graces with his terrible acting ability and once more gives me a disk and case to throw on the ground, and stomp all over.
