In Lauren Meyering’s tender-tough film, an autistic girl (a neurodivergent Lillian Carrier) finds community in the gymnastic dance sport of hobbyhorsing. Even the make believe has an authenticity that comes at you full gallop. Why resist? It’s a heartbreaker.
