Haunt

This intense and claustrophobic gore-fest is far removed from the elegiac tone of “A Quiet Place.” It’s more like a “Saw” movie, mixed in a bloody blender with elements from films such as “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” and “The Cabin in the Woods” and “The Hills Have Eyes” and even “Carrie.” And yet there are a few genuinely thought-provoking sequences sprinkled in.

A lethal little ensemble feature that packs quite a few thrills into a compact format.

Convincingly creepy while also slightly thought-provoking, it warns about deceiving facades, because what hides underneath masks is possibly much worse.

It offers nothing particularly new, yet it fulfills the only requirement that really matters for this kind of movie — it’s scary.

In an era where horror films are attempting to get smarter (a nod to you, “A Quiet Place,”) this just makes everyone dumber.

I'm so glad I discovered this hidden gem. It's a shame this film didn't get a wide theatrical release. This film was directed by the writers of A Quiet Place, but I found it far more entertaining than that overrated film. This film is chillingly effective and wholly satisfying, and makes the most of its simple premise. Even though most people would consider it a horror film, I would consider it a thriller since it doesn't have any supernatural or mythical elements. If you love horror films and thrillers, you won't want to miss this one. Since it takes place on Halloween, it's a perfect choice to watch in October.

The premise for this movie is far from original by any stretch of the imagination but it's solid enough to make for an entertaining if some what predictable ride.

This reminded me a lot of Dark Ride (2006) in many ways. It is bad, silly, pointless, boring, badly acted, badly directed, lacking anything memorable, entertaining or engaging. It is the definition of ‘nothing’. In fact, the only way to describe this film is ‘nothing’. It’s a nothing film through-and-through. It lacks anything engaging at all. It is totally forgettable. There is no point watching this. I'm giving it an extra star as there is a film and it's not badly made. It's just absolutely nothing.
