All in all, Get Away becomes surprisingly effective by the time all is said and done, bleakly satirical, bloody and a far cry better than the trite parody of director Steffen Haars other 2024 collaboration with Nick Frost, Krazy House.

In the words of Bojack Horseman; this ain't casablanca. However is a serviceable good time. The awkwardness and almost overt set-up seems to tip its hand on the major twist, but its a worthwhile watch for horror/thriller fans

I really like Nick Frost in almost everything he’s in. Huge fan of the guy. You can tell the director had no idea what to do with him. This movie flips the script on the “vulnerable family visits foreign place” trope which is fine, but it just drags on without anything notable happening until the last 20-30 minutes and the twist (if you can call it that) comes out of absolute nowhere. Nothing feels as if it has any weight or gravitas, really not much humor to speak of. It’s weird but that’s about it.

Get Away does a lot with the resources it possesses and isn't hindered by them, delivering a strong story with fun performances. It has a strong future as a cult comedy horror movie.

Get Away works better on paper than as a visceral entertainment experience, as its raison d’etre of subverting folk horror expectations sometimes feels more like a screenwriting class exercise than a fully immersive world.

The trouble with Nick Frost’s knowingly cartoonish and silly comedy paying homage to folk horrors such as The Wicker Man and Midsommar is that Frost has done this kind of movie before, and better.

The whole movie just made me think, "But why?" More doesn't work than does work here, and a twist in the final act doesn't do enough to save it for me.

Uma salada, aquela mesma história batida de passar férias num local completamente duvidoso, e ainda bem que o filme não se leva a sério, causando boas risadas, pena que o filme demora a engrenar, poderia ter esse tom slash desde o princípio. É um filme totalmente desequilibrado.
