Creep is a tiny movie whose uniqueness feels positively seismic. If there's one thing Creep has, it's an abundance of personality, and that cannot be understated.

The film is remarkable, considering its minimal means and surprising lack of bloodshed, given the genre. Does it stay with you? A little.

Wonderfully acted, disturbing, and unsettling, "Creep" is a found-footage horror film done right, and one that will stay with you long after the final segment.

A slow-burning found-footage suspenser with some mildly clever twists and a knockout payoff.

Superior found-footage horror film Creep tellingly loses steam after it stops being a rote but tense game of chicken between a normcore derangoid (he likes hikes, hugs, and pancakes) and his wary victim.

Knowing and funny without straining to be clever, the found-footage-style pic works better than the Duplass Brothers' 2008 Baghead, with which it has some elements in common.

While Creep has the limited scope of DIY filmmaking at its most rudimentary, that contributes to a tone that’s unusually playful and entertaining without coming off as a lark.

This is another movie I just randomly found on Netflix that I decided to watch. The only thing I knew about Creep was that it had a really good rotten tomatoes rating. I didn't read a plot synopsis, didn't know the cast, directed or really anything about this movie. I like watching movies like this because then I don't have any expectations going in. Creep, directed by Patrick Brice and starring Mark Duplass, follows Aaron who answers a sketchy craigslist ad for a one-day job to shoot a film. His client is a little weird and talkative, but Aaron realizes this man is not who he seems. It sounds generic and overdone, but Creep executes its premise in an original and memorable way. This guy, Josef, seems like a pretty normal guy. He's not a shady, mustachioed guy who drives a windowless white van, but he's also not "too nice" or "too perfect." Josef is just the guy in line behind you at McDonald's who's way too talkative and kinda aggravating. Paired with a standout performance by Mark Duplass makes him an incredibly memorable villain. The plot itself is also wildly unpredictable, which is far too uncommon in movies like this. You never know where this movie will go or what will happen next. It has so many tricks up its sleeve that it'll keep you on the edge of your seat, anticipating the next move that the movie will make. Creep is without a doubt one of the best found footage films in a long time, and it may be one of the best horror films of the year.

Relax, you’re not missing anything if you don’t watch it. 'Creep' is one of those films that aims to innovate within horror through a more intimate and minimalist approach. On the surface, it resembles a meta-horror movie in the style of 'V/H/S', with that found footage format meant to make us believe everything we see is real, though it doesn’t fully capitalize on its potential. Still, its premise remains coherent within its own language: a camera observing, a confined space, and two characters carrying the full weight of the story. The most notable aspect of 'Creep' is precisely its script and characters. There are only two, yet they are constructed with admirable clarity. Every gesture, word, and decision says more about them than any direct exposition could. There are no masks or embellishments: they are defined by their actions, which makes the character development solid even when the plot doesn’t overflow with twists or major revelations. The story, while simple, is better crafted than it might appear at first glance. It has its layers, its rhythms, and a structure that holds together without losing coherence. Yes, it is predictable—you can pretty much sense where things are heading from the start—but the execution keeps it engaging. Technically, it does what’s necessary. The found footage aesthetic feels natural, without overusing shaky camera movements or visual chaos. The direction favors control and silence, which works to its advantage at several moments. Personally, I didn’t fully connect with the film. It has its merits, no doubt, but it leaves a general “meh” feeling: competent, interesting, yet not unforgettable. 'Creep' is recommended for fans of psychological horror, found footage, and uncomfortable portraits of the human psyche. But if you skip it, you wouldn’t be missing much.

Really? All these positive reviews? We're really lowering our standards these days, aren't we? I mean, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. The first 30 minutes were a drag. Then at around 45 minutes, we got some mediocre suspense, but by that point, we know the guy's a psycho, so there's really no surprises... other than the corny jump scares .... which were annoying!

I really did not like this film for so many reasons. For starters, it is a post-Blair Witch Project (1999) found-footage style film with little imagination or anything to make it stand out from so many similar movies. For seconds, it is not a patch on Creep (2004) which isn’t the best film in the first place. The main character is a man-child and that gets really annoying really quickly. I would be embarrassed if he were my dad. The film is boring with bad pacing. The jump-scares are forced in and did not make me jump at all. I really wonder how and why on earth they made a sequel. Towards the end of the film it becomes legitimately stupid. If I had to compare it to anything then it would be The Last Broadcast (1998), but that film is significantly better and more original.
