It's brilliantly acted. But best of all, it's brilliantly made.

Everything about this swift and gorgeous and tremendously enjoyable film is played out in a rush of staccato edits, crisp performances, and charmingly giddy subplots that coalesce into Spielberg's most purely entertaining movie in years.

J'ai adoré se film.

You Can Catch it Whenever, Wherever You Can. Steven Spielberg should go down in history of iconic movies. Should "Jurassic Park" be the most influential? Because this had some iconic potential. Why have a chase scene where there is a fast paced chase movie? It is a chase, but a non cliche adventure of a chase without full on running, false jobs & family conflicts. The acting & casting was a fascination: Leonardo DiCaprio did not need to be the romantic role but instead, a 17-year-old con man, who could have been successful in escaping from Carl (Tom Hanks). Both are some of the best on-screen combos & on screen combo s are iconic. Well, I will never forget the iconic music & title sequence.

Spielberg directs so fluently that it takes a while to perceive how well made the film is.

Slight, enjoyable comedy.

What lingers in the memory is the impression of having experienced a frolic, a ride through the park on a bright winter day.

Breezily enjoyable but thin.

DiCaprio is far more successfully cast here than in Gangs of New York: His performance is all about acting; it's a mild kick to see how he'll manage to talk his way out of nearly every scrape.

A unique and well-made story. It manages to maintain a high level throughout its entire development and is pleasant to watch throughout its duration, always maintaining high attention and the sense of danger in which the protagonist lives

Lean, flirty material that lacks the emotional punch I've come to expect from a Spielberg movie. Tom Hanks and Leo DiCaprio are charismatic enough to keep things lively and entertaining, but their roles feel so stiff and rails-bound that there isn't room for them to add much in the way of extra spice. For the most part, Catch Me If You Can is happy to ease back into simple escapism, embracing DiCaprio's shameless con-man tendencies as heroic and admirable, even when the private repercussions can't have been pretty. Particularly uncomfortable is his stretch in residency as an MD, largely played for laughs, where he toys with more than just bankers' checkbooks. Christopher Walken appears in a throwaway role as the escapee's hard-luck father, but fails to pluck any of the intended heart strings and thus barely registers as more than an extended cameo. Satisfying at times, especially when it's inspecting the hard work and tireless attention to detail that's essential to such dirty work (not to mention the rewards), it whiffs on any aspirations to challenge grander themes.

Disappointed that you can take the two greatest actors of our generation and make a cheesy, plot holes movie. Acting was great. Storyline was good, considering that it's a true story. Many plot holes and things that simply don’t make sense for dramatic effect. Too lighthearted, jokes are not very funny.
