This is another Frank Oz film that is underrated. Basically, this is about filmmakers who have to make a movie without an actor knowing he's in it and they come up with creative ways of filming. That's where the comedy comes in as it's a satire of the movie industry. The comedy is hit and miss but the chemistry between the actors is great. This is a recommended movie to people who want more Eddie Murphy &/or Steve Martin humor and 90s comedies in general. This won't disappoint!

Much funnier than I suspected, considering the family-friendly comedy hell both Eddie Murphy and Steve Martin's careers were roasting in at the time. Martin is unusually bouncy and jubilant as a con-man film producer, his enthusiasm likely due to his behind-the-camera credit as screenwriter, while Murphy yet again plays a double role. He's just passable as the action movie superstar at the story's center, but relentlessly funny in a supporting slot as the actor's geeky, socially inept identical brother. There isn't much of an arc to the plot - everything goes off without a hitch from, basically, the word go - but it's not trying to be Macbeth or anything. A simple, unassuming excuse to let two comedy legends play around on the screen, it's perfectly entertaining fluff.

This is the most epic film since the Rocky films, You gotta see it, it's EPIC!

May just be Eddie Murphy's last film he'll ever shine in comedy. Bowfinger is a remembrance of all his greatest films being the last in the list. Watch if you must.

Bowfinger is a hilarious comedy with Steve Martin and Eddie Murphy. The movie is a satire of the movie industry and is a very underrated comedy. Martin and Murphy are brilliant together, they should make more comedies together, A+.

At some point Eddie Murphy decided that playing just one role in a movie wasn't enough for him and not once has his multiple performances ever lead to an even remotely funny film. Add into the mix Steve Martin, who's last decent film was probably Father of the Bride (1991), and you are left with a 97 minute movie that has arguably two or three funny moments throughout its entire running time. The fact that is has garnered mostly positive reviews still baffles me.

A marvelous comedy. It was sooo funny just edgy and fun right up to a point it was really good. One of Steve Martins Best movies along with L. A. story.

A near-perfect comedy that could only bit a little funnier but still contains some of the funniest moments in comedy films. Great idea, cast, script and execution. Frank Oz has made some really special movies. Bowfinger is one of his best.
