While both leads are appealing enough, it's the stuff on the sidelines that keeps All Over the Guy entertaining.

Davis, with a nicely turned and witty screenplay from Bucatinsky, freshens up the familiar predicament by having her two lovers recount the affair to a stranger.

Snappy but sappy romantic comedy.

This modest picture is distinguished by some marvelously bitchy dialogue.

The redeeming features of All Over the Guy are the consistently engaging performances and some genuinely funny dialogue.

Sitcom humor substitutes for wit, and tedious angst supplies the drama.
20
A painfully earnest case of generic romance spiced with queerness.

Honestly, I loved this movie. Will it win an Oscar, no, but the writing and performances are snappy and quite true characters in real life, sure some of it is over the top ridiculous, but you can't help but laugh and all 4 leads did a really good job.

This is one of my favorite LGBTQ films. Mostly because it's just so damn entertaining but also because it's quite painful to watch for personal reasons. It's simplistic in it's plotting as two gay men are set up on a blind date and hate eachother. But as their friends get engaged they are pushed into each others lives and opposites attract. The cast is great all around and the movies take on the subgenre is refreshing and genuine with no easy outs. It leaves an impression far after the credits roll. The film is sexy, romantic and really funny. A hidden gem that deserves a watch. 8.5/10
