Z
At first glance, Z might scare off people, but once you figure out how it works it's perfect for fans of both casual and deep RTS games, it's just too bad there isn't a little more handholding from the outset to bring in new fans.
It's totally faithful, and if you're of a certain age worth it without question for the nostalgia hit and sheer fizz of the nutty robots and explosions.
Z The Game isn't just limited to classic gamers and RTS fans; while there is a steep difficulty curve to climb, the simplified RTS features are easy to learn and adapt to.

One of the very few games I keep coming back to replay every few years. It doesn't have a story, but the game stays fresh, because unlike most other single player campaigns the AI doesn't always behave in the same way. There's also some degree of randomness to how well units hit and doge, which keeps you on your toes. Sometimes a stronger unit will lose the fight. That may sound like a negative, but personally I liked having thrown a curveball once in a while and having to adjust plans when a fight goes worse than expected. Again, keeps the game fresh. You can't just blindly send your usual units in and expect the same outcome. It's also very fast paced. No build up of bases. Just conquering of factories which produce none-stop for whoever owns it. If you conquer or lose a factory right before a strong unit gets finished, that is now the other one's unit, which can shake things up aswell.

One of the best games I've ever played. Great cut scenes, good game play, no bugs whatsoever. Runs well on my Samsung Galaxy S4. Was a great game to play back in the day on PC too.

Control issues aside, Z The Game is still a lot of strategic fun. The fast-paced nature of each level fits well with the on-the-go style most iOS users are used to and it practically feels like Z was originally designed with the platform in mind. Anyone who enjoys PC strategy games should find plenty to love here.

An almost classic just misses out for a second time, but this is still a successful attempt to show that real-time strategy can be done differently.

Despite a few gaps in its defence, Z is a solid time-killer for the solo strategist.

Z The Game succeeds in bringing the classic strategy game to iOS, but in trying to remain faithful to the original it misses the mark for creating engaging gameplay that works on a touch screen.
