Wonderbook: Diggs Nightcrawler

Virtual reality succeeds or fails with its controls. And, even though we were extremely skeptical at first, Wonder Book: Diggs Nightcrawler's controls work amazingly well. Except on a rare occasion or two, all of our inputs registered without having to repeat the action. [July 2013, p.90]

A fun but short detective game that utilises the Wonderbook in great ways.

Diggs is an alternative and original product, with many courageous choices. Simply brilliant.

It sucks then that getting Diggs out of the frying pan takes a scant three hours, tops. Do that and you’ll unlock the option to replay and use the Move as a virtual camera to scour the augmented environments for hidden objects and other goodies – but that gets old pretty damn quick. Diggs Nightcrawler sets itself apart by using the book itself as a controller, instead of the PlayStation Move. The game is mostly aimed at a younger audience and is very amusing to look at (and listen to). It's a shame that the Wonderbook isn't always correctly detected by the PlayStation Eye and the adventure is a bit short overall, but still we would recommend a purchase.
