A fun and unusual romp. It feels like a children's title that also appeals to older gamers thanks to the art style and strange method of conveying its morals to the audience. The game feels like it should only be played in short bursts, due to the monotony that sets in after long sessions of performing the same tasks over and over.

Bursting with personality and cuteness. Challenge anorexic. [February 2014, p83]

Witty writing and a large serving of cute means you might just rediscover your humanity. [March 2014, p.83]

this game is brilliant, i remember playing it on my playstation 3 and i had the experience i have ever felt from a video game in my entire life.

Perhaps the story gets more interesting later on but when the gameplay, which involves nothing more than clicking on characters and occasionally choosing from a few options, is so dull I couldn’t be bothered to carry on and find out.

Quick background on me the reviewer, I tend to like single player games that is heavy on narrative the most. I also play a lot of racing games and use to play multiplayer games in my high school days but now that it's hard for me and my friends to find a good time to link up so now it’s rarer for me to get into a multiplayer game. Up to try any genre of games and sometimes I find something new that I didn't think I'd like. I own a PC (built by me), Xbox One X, Xbox Series X, PS3, PS4, PS5, and a Switch. I prefer Playstation due to their focus on narrative games. For scoring, I’ll be using the Gameinformer review scale and of course influenced by my personal opinions. (4) Bad. While some things work as planned, the majority of this title either malfunctions or it is so dull that the game falls short as a whole. Controls are clunky for a console game. Would of been better if they published this on PC instead of playstation products. The personality tests where the only good thing in regards to gameplay the rest was just completing random stuff for other characters. I think even kids will even have a hard time finding joy in this game.

It fills a galaxy with happy, hopeful, broken and bizarre characters, while maintaining an infectious, child-like sense of glee. It asked me to think about what it means to be human in general and also what it means to be me. In that respect, at least, Doki-Doki Universe is profoundly special.

Doki-Doki Universe is a one of a kind game. Some people will love it for its creativity, others will not like that concept. The game is packed with humour, questions and more. It is, however, always the same, so you’ll be done with Doki-Doki Universe quite quickly.

What a charming game. Doki-Doki Universe is pretty simple, there is really not much challenge here, but exploring each planet always gives us more interesting a funny characters to interact. I had a good time playing it; no complains here.

Doki Doki Universe isn’t going to appeal to everyone, it isn’t a game that pushes the limits of what is possible, but it is a nice family friendly game that you can go back to time and time again.

This is a strange and wonderful game, one that's equally comfortable exploring the nuances of human interaction as it is sending you through space on a flying piece of poo. Such experiences are rare in games. Then again, there's nothing commonplace about Doki-Doki Universe.

It’s not exactly the most fun of all indies and the gameplay is too basic to entertain. It even becomes dull quickly if not managed carefully.

People are more than a series of likes and dislikes, just as a game must be more than a series of multiple-choice tests and object recognition.

Please give this game a chance. I was uninterested at first because of the style. I thought come on, PS4 we can do better graphics then that. But I decided to download it because it was free on pS+. I wasn't going to lose anything but a little space. But it appears I am going to lose alot of time! This game is quirky and wierd and cute. I think I might get hooked!

Doki-Doki is a very warm comical game, it is not challenging, but it's filled with different kinds of puzzles, and it's easy to get lost in it. The game is worth playing if you are willing to give it a chance.
