Wizard of Legend 2 doesn’t just improve on its predecessor, it confidently redefines it. While the significant changes may initially take aback some fans of the first game, those changes reflect ambition, not abandonment. This is a game that respects its roots while striving for something more refined, more dynamic, and more universally appealing. Whether you're a solo player hungry for a challenge or a duo ready to dive into co-op chaos, Wizard of Legend 2 delivers at every level. It’s one of those best sequels that dares to reinvent, and in doing so, creates a new legend of its own.

Despite some underwhelming powers and the uncertainties around its learning curve, Wizard of Legend 2 stands out as an ambitious and visually appealing roguelike that fans of Hades and the original will likely appreciate. While there is certainly nothing stopping you from taking the game on solo, Wizard of Legend 2 just feels like a game that would be better in a group, so I recommend getting the game for a few friends as well.

I've spent about 20 hrs on this - it's not bad and plays very similarly to wol1 after all. the graphics are really nice but can't help to feel like lots of identity has been lost in this sequel. It bugs me a bit how talkative every npc is as well - i get it' s the trend after hades, but a bit of personality wouldn't kill a game ffs. anyway, rant over, the game plays and looks really well.

Can't believe devs decided to include less arcanas, less relics, less suits and less randomness in a sequel. Seems like the only goal was to put as much as you can in wannabe hades graphics within deadline. Oh, also made it much more casual friendly compared to wol1. Wish original devs made a sequel and then I would definitely not regret buying it day1. Still had fun tho, ifI didn’t play wol1 would rate it much higher.

Wizard of Legend 2 presents an enjoyable roguelike experience where you combine elemental spells to create powerful combos. The magic experience is enjoyable but it doesn't stand out from other roguelikes that have come before it. This makes Wizard of Legend 2 hard to recommend when another roguelike offers something more distinctive.

When the devs are passionate about a game, it shines through in the end product. The passion that Contingent99 had for that first game is absent here, and if there is any from successor Dead Mage, it's buried under the identity of other better games. The end result of Wizard of Legend 2 feels like Dead Mage abandoning a lot of what we loved about the first game in an attempt to put their own stamp on it, it's just that that stamp is a hashed together amalgamation of other games (especially Hades) instead of feeling like something that respects the IP it's supposed to be continuing. Now instead of trying to work on the game and build it out, it seems like they've abandoned any efforts to work on it post-launch beyond basic maintenance. Dead Mage walks away from a rushed game with a check, Humble Bundle gets an underperforming sequel, and fans walk away disappointed.
