Turok: Dinosaur Hunter
This game has some serious replay. With all the hidden secrets and the pieces of the Chronoscepter (I hope I spelled that right) to find, you'll be playing this game for quite awhile.
After the smoke clears, and the nuclear radiation fades, Turok: The Dinosaur Hunter is one of the finest games in video game history. It combines every element that makes a good game flawlessly.
Turok's flashy stuff notwithstanding, it is the game's incredibly rich and complex level construction and enemy AI that will keep your heart pounding and the sweat beading until the very end.

I'm not too fond of getting caught up with blasting through enemies with cool weapons, only to get stuck because I didn't look through every possible corner for key items, since they aren't hidden in the most interesting locales behind interesting challenges, but ratherbehind some corners that are easy to pass by. However going through the levels systematically is the name of the game, just doesn't happen to be my cup of tea. However the action, the atmosphere, the weapons, all the core aspects of a shooter check out for me and help me bear a bit of halting to look around for some hidden corridors and soon enough you build up an instinct for those. I guess a bit more dinosaurs in quantity and variety would have been nice, because you encounter surprinsingly little of those, less than you'd expect from a game subtitled "Dinosaur Hunter"

Turok has more fire power more control over its environment, and more gruesome graphics than other corridor shooters. The rest are Doomed to failure.

Perhaps a bit easier than it was ever meant to be on Switch, nonetheless a burst of non-stop fun, with one of the best game scores I've ever heard.

Invented an entirely different (and effective) control scheme for shooters on an N64 controller. Aside from that, this is a masterpiece ****.

Gaming Age
I was continually surprised by Turok’s near-perfect mood-setting graphical quality -- the outstanding character animation and the cleverly assembled array of transparent weapon effects must be seen to be believed.

Turok is more than just another Doom clone. Turok delivers a complete package of great graphics, outstanding sound, and a fresh premise.

TotalGames.net
The most important thing to realise with Turok is that it's very much a post-Doom, total 3D game. The gameplay balance has had to shift away from mass onslaughts to a slightly more thoughtful variation. For the most part it's an enthralling, if occasionally frustrating atmosphere piece.

Computer and Video Games
Describing the stages in Turok as mere 'levels' doesn't really do them justice - it took us almost two hours to find everything in the first one alone, and they get bigger!

All Game Guide
Turok has some good points (namely the graphics and weapons) and some bad points (confusing level design and overuse of fog), but the overall game is still fun to play.

I loved this game so much and I am still waiting for a game to capture the same type of atmosphere this game did back in the day with limited resources.

This game deserves 11 out of 10 but I can't do more, so I can only give a 10. I love the weapons and graphics;although, some people who are bad at it say the levels are too hard. To me the levels are fine and not too confusing since I have a pretty good memory. I still have this awesome game, and wish that more games would follow this example. If you see a negative review they are probably wrong. A lot of people that I know also like this game, so if you haven't tried it, go ahead and try it today! I am almost certain you will like it!

This is the oldest FPS I have ever played. From what I have played, it is pretty cool, with some clever gameplay. The only problems are the awkward and extremely diffucult controls and the camera, which slightly hurts the experience.

Really has not aged well but the gameplay and music are a very positive factor.
