The AMOLED-screen on the Vita really works in favor of Touch My Katamari since it comes with a rainbow of colors. Unfortunately the story mode isn't particularly long, which cuts the fun assignments, quirky Japanese humor and happy J-pop short.

Touch My Katamari is peppered with small, satisfying innovations, but it never strays far from its old rolling grounds. If you have any measure of experience with the series, then despite its gallons of charm, Touch My Katamari's all-too-familiar set of challenges will feel old hat, and fast.

A little more polish and some much-needed rethinking and this would've scored much higher. [May 2012, p.81]

I LOVE Katamari Damacy, it was the only PlayStation 2 game I played besides Tomb Raider. I got this because it was a $5 download and I figured hey, a remake of Katamari Damacy but portable? Take my money! Sadly, though, this game isn't as great as it could be. I will always laugh at The King Of All Cosmos' one-sided dialogue with The Prince, and his appearance in this game is...frightening, but in a good way. The reason this game frustrates me so much, though, is how hard it is! I've been playing Katamari Damacy forever but it's not enough - even with the "Classic Controls" setting! That's the only thing that really bothers me. I don't mind that it is very similar to Katamari Damacy, I was mostly drawn the the portable element. However, I suddenly get frustrated when I never really got frustrated with the original. The King Of All Cosmos still has me laughing out loud, though, so despite the difficulty, I won't be putting this game down any time soon - that is, until I get access to my PlayStation 2 again.

It's light on content but it's pretty enjoyable. The controls are at their best for the series, and the new backpad touch thing that lets you change the shape of the Katamari is amazing. Get it on the cheap and play it when you watch TV or something. Not much more to say about Katamari.

Touch My Katamari does little to break the mold, but with its odd humor and addictive simplicity, it's a great game to have on the go. Plus, at $30, it's one of the more reasonably-priced Vita launch games.

Although, if you had all previous games of Katamari, this one might be not so good choice, it's still very good game with katamari feel. "Stretching" feature is awesome and refreshes gameplay, the story is quite simple but good and fun at the same time. I enjoyed this game end still enjoying it, thanks to the free DLC!

I really think katamari titles are self explanatory. You roll stuff up, inflict terror upon worlds, while single handedly humiliating deities and getting the shaft from your ambiguously homosexual father who just so happens to be the ruler. Of everything. This game adds a few new features, familiar environments, a great soundtrack, and SLIGHTLY updated graphics. A must have for fanboys/girls or someone looking for an addictive pick up n play handheld title. Instant classic :)

If you never clicked with the series' ball-rolling insanity, Touch My Katamari isn't likely to win you over. However, I do think that the morphing is a significant enough tweak to warrant giving it another shot.

It still has that Katamari Damacy charm, but if you've played one Katamari game you've played them all. The game uses the Vita's capabilities in a competent fashion, but I'd much rather use the joysticks to control the ball instead of the touch screen.

It is loud, brash and bizarre; but that's what makes this a Katamari game and goes a long way in making up for some of the minor niggles.

It's great to finally have a portable Katamari as playable as the console versions, but we already saw this game seven years ago…and six years ago…and five years ago…and...

In the end this is not much more than a demoversion with a hefty pricetag, a slap in the face of the devoted fan.

A fresh story that is actually fairly easy to understand, at least compared to past titles in the series. While short, it definitely has replay value in the trophies. I spent a good six hours with it every day for a week and a half. I still haven't gotten the last trophy. The controls are perfect, the integration with Vita's touch screens is perfect, and the load times are very very short. I honestly don't have a single gripe about this game. For $30, it's a must-own for anyone who likes fun...especially when you can take that fun anywhere!

This game is small, but it is fun. There's some repetitiveness in it as it could use some additional stages, but overall it incorporates the vita's touch screens very effectively.

Being a Katamari fan, this was a no-brainer purchase for me. However, after the the initial story playthrough (which was fast), I don't have much reason to go back to it. Definitely could have been done better, but I'm not sorry that I bought it.
SummaryIn Touch My Katamari, the ever-growing ball of bits and bobs is controlled by touching the screen to roll it in any direction. A completely new Katamari gameplay feature allows players to use the rear touch pad of the PlayStation Vita to stretch the ball either horizontally or vertically to pick up more objects at once or squeeze through...
