Third Blade
Third Blade looks the part but the pretty visuals are merely a façade to cover up some painfully uninspiring gameplay and an in-app purchase system which practically forces you to dig deep in your pockets to advance.
Featuring a tedious storyline that is hard to invest yourself into, a deluge of the same enemies over and over again, plus a little visual tarnish to boot, Third Blade is a game that doesn't live up to its own high aspirations.
Third Blade is more flamboyant than your average side-scrolling beat'em-up and the ability to wield three unique weapons adds a bit of variety if you can afford the skills and time to grind for them.

Highly recommended for being one of the best hack and slash games to hit the App Store, full of cool artwork, a rocking soundtrack and sweet monster killing gameplay. Dive into this fantasy world and bag some slugs.

I'm still playing Third Blade; I played it on the subway from home. However, there's something incredibly tasteless about the fact that they would use such underhanded freemium-style tactics in a paid game. That said, if you're looking for a fever-paced little game destined to keep you busy for at least a few days, Third Blade remains a worthy recipient of your money.

For fans of old-school side-scrolling beat em ups, it's decent. For anyone else, this is a simplistic and ultimately boring take on a genre past its prime.
